Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls
Well, ya all probably know by now, that Season 3 finalist Jennifer Hudson is playing the role of Effie in the upcoming film adaption of “Dreamgirls”. She was a hit at this year’s Cannes film festival and there are those who describe her performance as “Oscar-worthy”.
PerezHilton.com has posted a preview of Jennifer Hudson singing “Dreamgirls” show stopping tune “And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going)”. It was made famous in the original Broadway production by Jennifer Holliday. Perez isn’t very impressed, but I think Jennifer does it justice.
If “Dreamgirls” is a hit, and Jennifer is nominated for an Oscar, she could be well on her way to a big career, picking up fans beyond the Idol faithful–just as Kelly Clarkson has done.
