Adam Lambert and Drake LaBry Split Up

This is the sort of thing I don’t put on the front page, but I know some of y’all will want to discuss…
According to “sources” close to Adam Lambert, he has split up with his boyfriend Drake LaBry. Sads. The news initially came from an acquaintance of Adam’s via twitter, who runs a gossip site, apparently about his friends. Weird.
After peeps started giving him shit on twitter about breaking the news, the friend said he did it because he didn’t want people to think Adam was cheating. Huh? Whatever.
Anyway, gossip sites like Just Jared are beginning to pick up the news, so the breakup should provide some awesome gossip fodder for the next couple of days…
From Just Jared:
‘The relationship just ran its course,’ says the source. ‘The break-up was mutual and amicable. They remain friends and still care for each other.’
Adam, who is dressing up tonight as a glammed-out vampire, is celebrating Halloween with singer pal Katy Perry, who is dressing up as the ass of a camel (it’s a two-part costume with actress pal Shannon Woodward).
Glee – National Anthem – Game 3 – Philadelphia, PA – VIDEO
The Glee kids sang the National Anthem tonight, @Philadelphia, before Game 3 of the World Series between the Yankees and the Phillies.
Amber Riley (Mercedes) belted out a soulful lead, while the rest of the kids sang background harmonies.
Very nice.
Baseball has pre-empted Glee this week and next, but we’ll finally get our fix when the show returns on Wednesday, November 11.
X Factor – Week 4 – VIDEO

Update: Videos after the jump!
It’s Rock Week on X Factor. Cheryl accuses Simon of forcing a Rock week in order to prop up his performers. Cheryl’s visting the grassy knoll!
I have to say, it’s really startling to watch the judges gushing over performances that totally suck. Joe McElderry and Lloyd Daniels come to mind.
My favorites tonight: Lucie and Olly. Oh, and John and Edward, for the lulz.

Michael Sarver’s New Single, “You Are”

Michel Sarver performed his new single, “You Are” at the Dream Center in Los Angeles on 10/30. The song will be released through the Dream Center’s record label via Universal Records in the near future.
The Dream Center recently named one of their programs in honor of Danny Gokey’s late wife, Sophia. Word is, both Danny and Michael did volunteer work with the faith-based organization during their time on Idol.
Michael has been writing songs since the age of 14, but I think the song meanders at bit. He could benefit, at this stage, from working with professional songwriters.
What do you think of Michael’s new song? Watch his performance, after the jump.

DAUGHTRY TO KICK-OFF SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN AT DALLAS COWBOYS THANKSGIVING GAME
On Friday, October 30th, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and The Salvation Army’s Major George Hood announced the featured artist for the 2009 Thanksgiving Day Red Kettle Kick-off will be Grammy-nominated Daughtry. The rock band will perform live during the nationally televised halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Oakland Raiders. This will be the first Thanksgiving game to be played in the new, $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX.
For the past 12 years, the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game halftime show has officially launched the Red Kettle Christmas campaign on a national stage, becoming an annual holiday tradition. Since the partnership began in 1997, the annual Red Kettle campaign has raised more than $1.17 billion, which has helped the army serve nearly 30 million people each year nationwide. Last year, the campaign raised a record $130 million.
American Idol’s Anoop Desai On Adam Lambert’s Rejected, ‘Edgier’ Album Covers
Whatever you think of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert’s debut album cover, it was supposed to be that way. Aight, bro/mom? But as Movieline discovered last night when talking to Idol sixth-place finisher Anoop Desai at Gen Art’s 12th annual ‘Fresh Faces in Fashion’ runway show in Los Angeles, the now-famous sleeve could’ve ended up much different ‘†and funnier.
The 22-year-old balladeer (and hardcore Swingers fan) told Movieline that he not only saw the final For Your Consideration’s artwork, but he saw other contenders.
‘I have seen the album, I have,’ he said. ‘He was in between two album covers, and I actually picked the one that didn’t get chosen. I liked the other one a lot; I don’t know if he wants me to talk about it ‘†but it was edgier. His album cover now is totally the glam thing, what he’s going for. I’m proud of it.’

UPDATE:: My take: This danceable tune finds Adam’s vocals processed, stripping out his unique sound until the very end where he gets in a few of his signature rock wails. No surprise here, for anyone who has listened to his pre-Idol work–Adam was all about the dancey processed pop. Making a thoroughly modern pop song that plays well on CHR is exactly what he needed to do at this point in order to get those all-important radio spins.
It’s hard to predict these things, but I think “For Your Entertainment” has a shot at chart success. We’ll see.
PS: I’m not getting the T Rex comparisons at all, the song sounds thoroughly modern to me.
Adam Lambert will debut his new single, the Claude Kelly/Dr. Luke track, “For Your Entertainment” today on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show at 6:55 am.
Check out the cover–initially posted on Perez Hilton this morning. Adam’s looking very fierce! It’s the vibe I was expecting for the album cover. I likes it!
I’ll post more on the single here after the debut. I’m going to pin this post to the top for awhile.
Also leaked this morning…the track list for the album. Check it out RIGHT HERE.
