Very nice interview with Allison. She’s cute, funny and personable. I wish she would have been more like this when she was on Idol a couple of weeks ago. Damn nerves, argh!

I love when she ‘finds the word’ for the interviewer about halfway through. Its nice to see someone else have the ‘brain fart’ for a change!

  • ARos:

Alli LUTKER she is becoming more and more comfortable with camaras and ppl interviewing her, I mean she is only 17 (16 when started on idol), and she said she became from having a normal life to this! I’m not a singer or anything and if you put a camara infront of me I’ll freak out, and I’m not 17 (LOL).. I almost double her age.
So People give her a break! She will get there!

  • jordison:

What a difference a year makes! Even 6 months, 3 months. Allison is maturing rapidly.

I agree alli lurker – this has to be a first, Allison finding a word for the interviewer, not vice versa. She’s also learning how to be diplomatic in her answers, yet without being phony.

Apparently nerves got the best of her when she was interviewed on Idol 2 weeks ago. Some people got the impression she was rude to the contestants because she didn’t offer any helpful advice or comforting words. From this clip, that obviously wasn’t the case.

I only wish she, or the show, had plugged her album on her night.

I am not sure there will be another album. National anthem at LA marathon? lol

  • ARos:

Oh please!! JOBBIX get out!! If you have nothing good to say, don’t say nothing at all!!

Whats the name of that 16 y/o kid who was crapping in his pants yesterday performing? Poor kid.
That Idol stage messes Allison up big time. In this interview she’s back to where she left off before going back to see Ryan, Simon, Randy and Kara, the so-called “experts” who drilled her not in her performance, but her confidence(looks, “personality”) that she got to know the underneath of that bus very well every week. Of course she was a nerve wreck that night.

I hope there won’t be another Jive album. Because albums, anybody can record and release their own record, even me. But in Idol world if you didn’t go platinum the first day your album dropped(purchased by housewives), then you’re doomed failure and at risk of being dropped by your label. It came as a shock to me as I read the boards, but thats the mentality. I know I said this before, but bands Im into normally took over two years to get any recognition. It wasn’t ’till their sophomore release that the Smashing Pumpkins finally started to get radio play and move a few hundred units. Pearl Jam toured for a year and change after their album dropped before they started getting noticed, and what can I say about GnR that I havent mentioned already. It took them two years into their debut until Sweet Child ‘O Mine broke, and once it did(while opening for Motley Crew & Aerosmith), they became headliners overnight. There’s a bunch of other bands that had it worst too…
There will be many albums to come, we can count on it.

I appreciate Allison a million times more when I see the 16-year-olds this season. She was miles ahead of Katie Stevens and Aaron Kelley when she was on Idol. (She was miles ahead of many of the twenty-somethings, too!)

I hope good things happen for her. She’s got mad talent.

BTW – Did anybody see Kristen Stewart on the Tonight Show last night? Her interview was pretty cringe-worthy, and she’s a couple of years older than Allison. It ain’t easy!

jordison – I only wish she, or the show, had plugged her album on her night.

I wish she had appeared on Idol after a few of the others from her season had appeared. I think she could have picked up a few tips from them, and maybe she would have done more self-promotion. It may have also gotten her competitive juices flowing!

I agree. I thought there was some sort of hierarchy protocol, where they come back in inverse order to the way they finished. So, why are Scott and Matt coming on the show after Danny and Allison? But, maybe it was nothing more than an availability factor.

A thought just popped into my head, which is totally a result of wishful thinking – unsupported by anything else. What if, inspired by the synergy of the Kradison concert, the producers are planning a surprise Kradison performance somewhere downstream. In that case, it would make sense to try to separate Allison’s and Kris’ appearances from that date as much as possible. Of course, Kris’ was driven by the timely need to raise money for Haiti, which trumps any other considerations; but this still could have been a factor.

Still, only wishful thinking on my part.

    Oh please…

BTW, the LA marathon is the second biggest marathon in the US, right after the NYC marathon. What is so funny about her singing the national anthem? Specially when you consider that she’s from LA and has run the marathon twice before.

It’s about time LA recognized Allison as being one of it’s own. I’m from the LA Area, and it’s really pissed me off how little recognition Allison has received in the LA media. But, this is not at all unusual for this area. Too bad she’s not from Milwaukee, Little Rock, or any place that seems to care about supporting it’s own.

Still, the National Anthem is hardly a career maker or breaker, and I hope Allison’s version isn’t compared to those of Carrie, Jordin, Kris, or whoever. As long as she sings it respectfully, that’s good enough.

  • PRMari:

I’ve heard her sing the national anthem, it’s more than respectful and 100% Allison, as usual. I don’t it’s a huge deal that she’s doing it but I also don’t think it’s anything to laugh about or there is any “shame” in her doing the national anthem at this thing.

  • ARos:

Anything exposure is good for Allison, do you guys know anything about her being at B93.7 in SC??? Is/was it today?

Yeah, well I thought she might get the elimination song, and look how that turned out… They picked a horrible song from somebody else.

But ‘don’t stop believin’ jordison… I admire you for it!

So Orianthi will be performing on the big stage with her band, and today Matt performed to a bigger audience than Alli did competing with the Olympics – just as I suspected.
19E can go you know where!!!! So unfair!!! Its my fault for getting too attached to a reality TV contestant. Last time this is going to happen to me, no more.
Like an episode of Good Times, Florida Evans(the mother) being denied justice and overwhelming odds against her family, will manage.

Like the show, Allison ” ain’t accepting no hand-outs” because she’ll persevere. Watch.

  • allisonfanahtic:

    one of her best interviews..:)

  • PRMari:

Don’t forget that Danny performed with his band too, while they made Allison perform by herself with the Idol band hidden in the shadows instead of with her own musicians. They just don’t treat her like she deserves.

  • Rub:

Tru true, don’t forget the backup singers drowning out Allison too.

Next week could’ve been perfect for Alli on the big stage. Early on I was envisioning David in black jamming on the guitar to the right and Priscilla to her left laying down the bass, and Valerie with her blond hair all over the place from pounding those skins and head banging. All the while, Allison torching the stage from side to side throwing it down with her booming pipes. She’s got the coolest band – sick nasty.
There’s always next year, bah. ….

  • jordison:

And, just like Danny, Matt and Scott both got to plug their records. It would’ve been nice if Ryan had said something to Allison like “what have you been doing lately?”, “You have an awesome album out, Just Like You,” etc., instead of turning the focus on the Season 9 contestants. Allison went with the flow, and never got to mention anything other than Scars being her new single.

Still, I have confidence that talent will prevail. I have to believe that.

And, I have to believe that if there is justice in the world, Katy Stevens will not win Season 9. No offense Katy – I just couldn’t deal with that.

  • PRMari:

They really aren’t treating her right, giving her nothing but promotion left overs and disrespecting her talent and hard work. It’s very sad that she isn’t taken seriously probably because of her age because talent should be what matters, regardless of age.
