American Idol – I Love This Cheesy Show
Season 7 Idol, Syesha Mercado appeared on the CBS Early Show this morning to perform the Grammy winning song “Listen” from the new production of Dreamgirls, now playing at the Apollo Theater in Harlem until December 12.
Syesha (Deena) duets on the song with Moya Angela (Effie). Once the stint at the Apollo wraps up, the company will tour across the country.
Those who attended the Season 7 Idol summer concert will be familiar with Syesha’s performance of this powerful song.

A couple of Idols performed for this morning’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Katharine McPhee sang her single, “Had it All”, from atop the Jimmy Dean Sausage Float (Lulzzz!)
And Syesha Mercado and her fellow dreams, from the Dreamgirls Nathional touring company, performed “Dreamgirls”. The tour is performing at the Apollo theater in Harlem through December 12. Syesha plays Deena.

The national touring company of the musical Dreamgirls, featuring Season 7 Idol, Syesha Mercado as Deena, opens in previews at the Apollo Theater in New York tonight (11/7).
The show officially opens on November 22 and will run until December 6, prior to touring the country.

David Cook was at the center of a mini-reunion of the Season 7 Idol cast when he and his band played a concert in Los Angeles last night.
Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Jason Castro, Syesha Mercado and Ramiele Malubay all came out to see their friend play. And they tweeted about it!
