A Little Too Not Over You the Next Single For David Archuleta?

The David Archuleta fan board, Fans of David (a reliable source for scoop) is reporting that Jive has made a last minute decision to switch David’s next single from “Touch My Hand”–set to impact pop radio on 12/9–to  “A Little Too Not Over You”:

Jive decided last night to switch the next released single from Touch My Hand to A Little Too Not Over You.

David is currently working with Jeff and others to conceptualize the video for ALTNOY! The video for Touch My Hand was all planned out, so the team is very busy switching gears right now.

Are we deliriously happy?! YES!

Our lovable source said that he is very happy about this: ALTNOY is a happy song and yet still a nice contrast to Crush, and best of all, David co-wrote it.

“A Little Too Not Over You” debuted highest of the 4 songs that entered the charts this week from the new album, David Archuleta, released 11/11.

The song debuted on the digital songs chart at #79 according to USA Today’s Idol Chatter. It also debuted at #14 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.  The “bubbling under” chart tracks songs on the verge of entering the Hot 100.

Recently, the music survey site, Rate The Music.com sent out a survey to its subscribers asking them what they thought of “A Little Too Not Over You”–an indication that Jive has been thinking about the song as a possible single.

Nice for David if this is true–he has co-writing credits on the song.

Judy I love Falling too, it’s beautifully written and sung. I see it featured during a slowing down the pace concert song. It shows more of David’s depth.

Cruzceleste, I love your list of favorites, and the idea that he should sing Works for Me for Simon, lol.

Hey, don’t post often, but I’ll add in that I also like the switch. TMH has a kind of plodding back beat that I don’t love. ALTNOY has a more radio friendly sound like Crush, but with a little more pep. Barriers is one of my favorite songs. I really love everything about it. I also really love Works For Me. I love the words to that song and it has a crossover sound that could hopefully be played on a not strictly pop station. I have always preferred independent radio stations, but have been subjecting myself to the pop station in hopes of hearing Crush. My 13 yr old daughter likes the switch to the pop station, but I sometimes have to change the station and have a conversation with her about the raunchy stuff they play. For instance, that awful song that sings about being butt naked banging on the bathroom floor all to a catchy beat. It makes my poor ears bleed.

I don’t post here often but love reading your discussions. Always learn something new about the record business.

Maybe they think it’s too early for Barriers in a progression from a crush to breaking up. Being jelaous about seeing your boo with someone else is the next logical step. Bariers has a phrase about lying here aka in a horizontal position am guessing which may be too racey, lol, given the skittles vibe of the album. Personally, I don’t think the album is skittles at all and is relatable for many age groups. I hope they release Barriers at some point.

About that line I don´t think the “lying here” is about what we all, dirty minds, are thinking about… Is Skittles,I mean David we are talking about, surely neither Jeff nor David will have record the song is they have found something R rated in it..

Many of his fans have being creating escenarios for that line to work, I picture them lying in the grass looking on to the stars… ;D

I think it’s a great decision, if anything because I’d rather catch this one on radio.
It can do even better than Crush. Good move!

I hope they change the little snippet of ALTNOY they have on itunes to listen to. It doesn’t grab attention imo. Would rather they choose another part of the song for the sample before it releases.
