Ace Young – Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

One more Thanksgiving Day Idol treat. Ace Young and the cast of Grease shot this performance out in the streets of New York, in front of an authentic NYC garage. It was broadcast during the CBS coverage of the Macy’s 82nd Thanksgiving Day Parade.
See Ace Sing! See Ace Dance! He’s very natural in the role. He’s got some fancy footwork!
Broadway.com was there, check out their 30-picture pictorial of the shoot. Ace said it took 3 hours to get everything right.

Ace did a great job. I’m so happy for him.
Wow. Ace was great! Very hawt. And Mmm Mmm Mmm….he licked the car!
I know. He licked the car. How weird.
I thought he was great too. When he took this role I honestly thought he just didn’t have a strong enough voice for it. But he’s obviously really kicked up the power. And his dancing is very good.
Awww fun! I missed this yesterday, but then again, I didn’t get to watch the whole parade. Good job Ace! He does fit the role well. And those arms are nice. /fangirl
Damn, that was good. I had no freaking idea. Go Ace! So proud of him. And yes, he was very hawt. Very.
Ace totally rocked it yesterday! The boy can dance!!!!!!!!!! My girls kind of wrinkled their noses when he licked the car… I , on the other hand, opened a window to let in some cool air!!! Go Ace!
Lu, if you thought the car-licking was hot, you should go see the entire stage show. Ace is incredibly sexy as Kenickie. His Broadway contract runs until January 18th, and then I think he’s returning to LA to pursue other goals.
Nice! I absolutely adore Grease. So this was fun to watch. He did a great job.
If Ace is smart he’ll extend his contract with Grease. It is something he’s proven good at and I doubt anything in LA will pay as well or pan out as well for him.
That was great! Ace sang really well and I like his moves. You go Ace!
Thanks, I missed this yesterday.
I heart Ace, he’s a great performer and this role is perfect for him.
I actually like him better with the Grease hair, than his usual look. I always thought he’d do well in this role.
DANG Now I know why the windows must be opened while watching this :jittery_tb:
I wish they would redo the movie version with Ace in it. I believe that would make tons of money.
I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago and saw Grease. It is Wisconsin cheese times two, but Ace really did steal the show. He and the actress that played Rizzo were much more compelling than Danny and Sandy.
If Constantine turned down the role, then it’s for the best. I can’t imagine him doing push ups. :tongue2_tb: :devil_tb:
I echo those who’ve said that Ace in Greased Lightnin’ is even better on the Broadway stage. He is a great/funny/emotional/sexy Kenickie and is definitely the star of the show.
I bet the show’s producers sat around their Thanksgiving tables and offered up thanks that Constantine turned down the role.
It’s pervy, I know, but the whole time they were singing, I wanted to touch Ace’s chest (because of those pictures!). Hee.
I was very impressed watching Ace on AI, and when I heard he was doing Grease on Broadway it was the perfect excuse for me and my girlfriends to leave the mountains of Colorado and go see him in NY. IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Ace is not only talented with his singing, acting and dancing — he truly owns the role of Kenickie — but his charisma on the stage is only something to be experienced firsthand. And, to top it off, you can meet Ace after the show and get his autograph and picture with him. This was an incredible trip and experience my girlfriends and I will cherish always. If there is any way possible for you to see him before he leaves Jan 18, you will be so glad you did!
That was a blast. Ace really has the moves – and the voice as well. He also looks pretty damn good in a wife-beater shirt. Heh.
So has Ace finally given up on pursuing music and now does this stuff? I havent heard much about his music so just wondering if hes completely done promoting his album.
Ace has said that he continues to write and record music while in New York, GeminiDolly. We’ll just have to stay tuned and see what he has in mind for his fans music-wise after his Broadway stint is over.
Great Ace!!!!
Ace did a really really great job with this.
But two things: I guess in the broadway version Grease Lightning is sung by Kenkie cause in the movie version Danny sings it. And two the camera sure focused on Ace.
I’m SOOOOO glad freaking Constantine passed on this.
I might go see Grease when it comes to down. Taylor is in it.
