Adam Lambert and Kris Allen arrive together at a studio in LA yesterday.
I guess Kris isn’t mad that Adam told Rolling Stone he has a crush on him.

Good to see Adam and Kris, both signed to RCA and Jive respectively, getting to work on their albums, due to drop this fall.
I have to disagree with this image of Kris. He may come from a small town, but it’s not as if he’s never left it. He has been to Africa and Thailand doing missionary work, which, I’m guessing, would be pretty far out of the comfort zone for a lot of us. He’s more worldly than people are giving him credit for. Aside from that, Adam may be the bigger-than-life glam guy on stage, but off stage, he seems to be a pretty easy-going guy who just happens to like clothes and make-up.
Honestly, I would be pretty surprised if Kris was at all intimidated by Adam. He seems pretty grounded, and I bet Adam’s not the first man he’s ever seen in make-up. (Thailand, anyone?)
I agree with that Callitags. I think Kris is a lot more of everything than people give him credit for. I don’t see him too intimidated by anyone. Plus, they lived together for quite a while. You get to know a person pretty well under those circumstances. The fact that it made them tighter as friends says a whole bunch about both of them.
I’m annoyed with the characterization of Kris as shy college boy and Adam as some kind of seasoned hotshot. Kris is savvy and talented and Adam is savvy and talented. To me, Kris knows who he is. Adam, altho a fantastic talent, had to find that self identity. That must be hard, when society tells you it’s wrong to be who you are. Adam puts up a brave front. Remember when he said on an AI clip that he might have crumbled under the pressure if he had tried out earlier? I give him all kinds of kudos for finding himself and being brave in a really harsh world. To me, Adam and Kris are all kinds of brave for different, but admirable, reasons. Maybe that’s one of the things they have in common, these kindred spirits?????

Just want to add: Kris traveled to Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain and Thailand (acc. to Wikipedia).
I think Kris and Adam are from similar backgrounds. I don’t know the actual town Kris grew up in (I don’t think it was Conway), but I think Adam grew up in Rancho Penasquitos, which seems like a suburb-type section of San Diego with a population of about 54,000, or, about the same as Conway. They each have one brother, their mothers get along great, etc.
Funny, but offstage I don’t see Adam as being bigger than life or an overpowering personality. He’s a performer who turns it on when he goes on stage, and offstage I think that while his look is offbeat, his personality is less offbeat. He seems more talkative but otherwise pretty similar to Kris in a lot of ways. Cool guys, both.
The AI7 Tour had a stop in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. Here are the videos I took. Unfortunately, I missed recording 2 of Jason’s performances, 1 of Ramiele’s and Chikezie’s entire set (and he was surprisingly good too).
This year, there are two stops in Canada: Vancouver and Hamilton (which is just beside Toronto).
I believe seasons 4 and 6 had tour dates in Canada but not season 5. Not sure about seasons 1-3.

I also think, both of them are awesomely talented, but who knows what makes us vote for people? Maybe we do see a light inside and that’s part of it, too.

Then I went on Wikipedia to find out his home town, and there’s a picture of him wearing a jacket, and I thought: that’s a nice jacket. Then I thought: Wait, I have the same jacket. More or less. So: now I think he has fantastic taste.

Also I think that this season of AI had some really interesting and relevant personalities in these crazy times. I really do wish them (all top 13) well. What incredible people. (If anyone calls me a Pollyanna, I will throw a poison dart at you!!!)

Nah, I don’t think you’re a Pollyanna. There were some incredible people. I esp, like how they put friendship over competiton at times, like the save of Matt G., the way Kris and Adam helped out Allison (acc. to Allison), the way Kris and Adam basically refused to compete against each other. Pretty awesome.
There couldn’t be a more perfect pair to be #1 and #2 this year. Great personalities, great music and great friendship. I’ll bet they will be life long friends. This was the best season of Idol ever.

LOL…Kris Allen is not some uneducated hick from the Arkansas sticks. He’s from the greater Little Rock area, and obviously grew up in a typical middle class American household.
The Season 2 and 3 tours also went to Toronto.
I just think it’s nice that they’re actually letting Kris make an album, since no one seems to care.
I am and always will be an Adam fan, but who doesn’t love Kris for his glib reply when asked about Adam’s comment in RS? Thank God he didn’t make a media frenzy of it and stayed his cool, layed back self. That’s what true friends do…they watch your back. Kris is from a small town, but a hick he ain’t!
