Adam Lambert and Kris Allen Visit Ryan Seacrest

Ryan Seacret interviewed Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on his KISS LA radio show this morning.

They talked tour, upcoming albums and crushes.   Yes, interviewers can’t seem to get enough of the crush thing!

Of course, the death of Michael Jackson came up.   They were in rehearsal when the news broke–and it was promptly canceled–with nobody able to concentrate on singing afterward.

About the Bowie medley Adam is performing on tour, he says, “We have it orchestrated with a lot of modern elements.”   “2009 Bowie,” Adam calls. it.   Kris will perform the Beatles’ “Hey Jude”–a song that didn’t get cleared during the competition.

Ryan read Adam’s latest statement on the Hi-Fi release of his pre-Idol material, and while Adam stopped short of telling fans not to buy it, he made it clear he’s pissed.   “The songs aren’t finished,” he says.

This may be a stupid question—–do they each release a single first and if yes then when would that probably be if album to be released in Nov??

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think Ryan actually said a name about who they donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get along with. It seems like he just muted it to seem like he did

That was the impression I got too.

That TVguide interview is so cute and hilarious!

  • ShariG:

Great interview. It is fun to hear someone interview them that knows them, knows the show, and respects them both. I was glad that both guys got some direct questions and some time to talk. I think when Kris is with Adam he sometimes steps back and letsd the older more experienced Adam take the lead. When he is by himself he is great at the whole interview thing. I do think that they both did a great job in this interview. Can’t wait to hear Kris sing Hey Jude on tour.

    Is786idol….thanks for the link…loved it! I wanna smell Adam’s jacket too :smile1_tb:

Geez Ryan, nice try in getting Kris to admit he was uncomfortable rooming with a gay man. Sorry about your luck in that Kris wasn’t uncomfortable and you didn’t get a scoop there. Try as I might I will never like Ryan.

….and pffft!!! to whoever has sold Adam out with HiFi. You won’t be getting any favours from him in the future!

Great interview for Kris, maybe. Not for Adam. In my opinion, Ryan showed a real disrespect for him with some of the initial comments and questions about the “crush” and the bathroom thoughts. I actually have a fair amount disrespect for Ryan right now, given his obvious attempts to goad one or the other of them into saying something contraversial or titillating. Ryan’s an asshat.

And frankly he asked the same generic questions about the tour and albums that the other interviewers have. So, I guess I disagree. As much as I like to hear these guys talk, I could have done without this interview.

  • Susan M.:

Sorry, Ryan was weak. As usual. I too, try to like him, but he just does such a great imitation of being clueless. I cannot fathom that he is, but why does he go there? Like yesterday’s FoxLA reporter asking the month-old, retread, beyond weak questions, when there are a million other things to discuss? What’s that about?

Maybe it’s an L.A. DJ thing. I have a long commute and listen to several stations on the morning drive and so often they just toss out headlines, tabloid style, to entice listeners. Ten times out of 11 the headlines are total red herrings and have nothing to do with the actual story. Seacrest is a master at that. But c’mon, Larry King has said he thinks Ryan would be his best successor? I am completely missing that.

  • suebrody:

Given some of his questions (even the leading one: Hey, what have you guys been up to lately? or something like that), you would think Ryan *and* his listeners had been living under a rock for the past month. Feh. Please tell me Ryan won’t be the next host of LKL. RSL. Ugh. Noooo. I guess that’s morning radio for you, tho. The TV Guide and Radar interviews were much better.

I want to hear Kradam on American Top 40!!! :)

I’ve officially lost what little respect I had left for Ryan with the questions he posed at the beginning of this interview. Did he really have to pose the bathroom questions?! He was trying to make something very sordid out of the whole set-up. I think he tries very hard to embarrass Adam and seems to get some sort of simple minded pleasure from it. I thought he handled that “bottom three” episode in a cruel manner too. Making Adam pick which group he should be in and them leading him to the “bottom three”. (You know, he could have been in the top three at that point.) And, Ryan acted like he got a real kick out of that. It just pisses me off. I’d avoid him. He seems to enjoy putting people down in a passive aggressive way.

Isn’t there a lot of speculation about Ryan Seacrest’s sexuality? Maybe he is not very comfortable with it, whatever it is, and therefore acts like a little kid around men such as Adam and Kris who are comfortable with who they are. Ryan seems kind of immature (he reminds me of the uncool kid trying to get in good with the cool kids). Its pretty unattractive for someone his age.

When someone asked Larry King who should take his place when he retires, he did say Ryan Seacrest which (to Larry’s surprise) evoked laughter from the live audience. That should give TPTB a hint.

    I can’t believe Ryan…this is on his site…

    http://www.ryanseacrest.com/blog/whats-happening/adam-lambert-details-his-big-crush-on-kris-allen/

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert joined Ryan in-studio Friday to share behind the scenes American Idol details and news on their up and coming albums.

Immediately upon arrival Adam revealed that he had a crush on Kris when they were rooming together during Idol. “Oh God yeah, that got uncomfortable,” joked Lambert, but Kris said “it wasn’t weird at all.”

Ummm..yeah, if “immediately” means AFTER you asked the question. He’s ridiculous.

  • Ligeya:

I think some fans think Ryan is spending most of his time reading news about Adam, just like they are. It’s obviously wrong, he has his life to live, million of jobs and probably some kind of personal life, that’s why he’s covering the most important subjects – such as tour, sexuality, relationship and plans for future.
I think it was good, funny, interesting interview, and I certainly doubt that Adam is pissed at Ryan because of some questions. I really doubt Adam is a gentle flower who can’t handle a couple of difficult questions.
And another thing – I don’t know anything about Ryan’s sexuality and how it affects his life, but I have to say – speculations about Ryan’s sexuality from people who some time ago were mad about speculations about Adam’s sexuality and said that what person does in bed should be their own business are really low and example of double standards.

I think the fact that legend like Larry King thinks Ryan is a good replacement and is very persistent about give every hints anybody might need. Of course, audience might have some doubts about it, because Ryan is associated with entertainment industry and news, but he could do different styles as well. He did very good job replacing Larry King, and he had some difficult topics such as anymal cruelty. He was good with Idols as well. So he could be good replacement, no doubt about it.

I have to agree with the middle-aged woman caller who said to Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You do it for ME Baby!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I actually thought that was so EWWW -worthy … I was thinking – she’s joking – but she seemed serious. IMHO, 59 year olds shouldn’t be saying stuff like … at least not in public.

  • ruskimom:

I can’t stop laughing after their reactions to their Michael J. performances

  • saga:

Maybe Adam should say that Ryan is his type? :jittery_tb:

Listen to what Adam says immediately after the “that got uncomfortable” remark …. Ryan’s saying “yeah” and Adam says, “No, for everybody else, not for us.” That kinda changes the whole meaning of the prior statement and along with that point CindyM made above (i.e. that Adam was responding to Ryan’s question, not volunteering this information), shows how totally MISLEADING and INACCURATE this whole statement in the article really is. Plus, by “everybody else” I’m pretty sure he’s talking about other people generally, due to the media focus, not the other Idols because this issue only came up post-show after his comments in RS.

I agree with redsetter10. Ryan should take a lesson from Perez. Karma’s a bitch.

    Adam has to be so sick of the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“gay thingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . I mean Ryan? Cà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢mon Ryan. Adam tried to put him in his place (with snark), à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I sing too.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Who said à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“shut upà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . Probably Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ more snark.

Loved the “I’m also a SINGER!”, lol. When Ryan dropped the “gay” bomb (heh) I think it was Kris who said “Shut UP!”, jokingly, as if pretending that he had never known. I don’t think either of them were being snarky, it sounded to me like simply more of their banter. And while I think it was dumb for Ryan to bring up the subject (want to beat that dead horse a bit more, Ryan?), for me the “reading between the lines” of that bit was “Well DUH! Why did so many of you people [viewers] not get this?!”

Also loved Adam’s bottom-line “they aren’t *finished*!” I would be soooo pissed if I were in that kind of situation.

I have to agree with the middle-aged woman caller who said to Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You do it for ME Baby!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I agree. Fine if people want to say stuff like that to their friends, but if you’re *talking to the person*, keep it to yourself. And I cannot stand the “it’s such a waste” comment (that I still see everywhere) – as Adam responded, why should it matter one way or another?!?

Ryan tries to embarass Adam? The same Ryan who praised him non-stop on Larry King, who basically said he should have been the winner on Conan and other shows, who said Adam is absolutely unique for Idol and etc? Give me a break.
The issue of sexuality is old for Adam’s fans, who read/listen/obsess over his interviews, it definitely new for Ryan and most of his listeners, that’s why he asked about it.
As for this moment during Top 5 result show, it was Adam who made situation awkward for himself. He made a choice, he was wrong – not a big deal. It’s easier to blame cruel show and cruel Ryan than to see the truth about situation.

  • redsetter10:

The issue of Adam’s sexuality is new to Ryan?! Come on. I thought his line of questioning was juvenile.

  • Ligeya:

He asks this questions not because he personally so interested, but because it was important news about Adam, and he couldn’t skip it. Yes, interview would be better without this topic, yes, I understand, Adam is tired from questions about sexuality (everybody ask him about it, not just Ryan). But to say that Ryan asked this questions because “Oh, he hates Adam so much and wants to embarass him OMG” is just wrong. It’s obvious that Ryan is a biggest Adam’s fangirl, he always supported and praised him.
