Adam Lambert – Billboard Interview – VIDEO

The Idols did a series of video interviews with Billboard nagazine, watch Adam Lambert’s interview after the jump.

There’s no discussion of the upcoming tour, but he does describe how he got “Whole Lotta Love” cleared for the show, despite Led Zepplin tunes never having been cleared before. It turns out the publishers’ kids were Adam fans.

Also, when he considered doing Cher for Hollywood Week, he thought for a second that it might be too “gay” but then decided it didn’t matter–that he’d just treat the song like a piece of music and not worry about what the audience might think.

Also, from ONTD: Adam will be Kathy Griffin’s guest when she sub-hosts Larry King Live next Friday.

    I just read this part

It was all like ‘Just in case you didn’t know, HBIC is onstage next. So wrap it up screamboy.’

    LOLz!!

but I always got the feeling that part of the reason he goes crazy wild on top is that it just plain feels good to him to do so. Like a race horse breaking away, it just feels good to let lose.

Well, my sense with him is that “if you got it, flaunt it” – he COULD do all those vocal acrobatics, and no one else could, so he did it. Very few singers (esp. on Idol) can pull out those kinds of notes, so he threw it out there knowing it was in his bag of tricks. Again, part of the reason I didn’t like him at first, because I thought he was just showing off.

It’s true that the control he later displayed, in TOMT and MW, were what convinced me he wasn’t just about flash, but had a lot of control, sensitivity, and range as an artist and singer.

Many singers with big voices lack the control to go soft and subtle – and when he showed that he could, I was really won over with his talent.
