Just a followup to my blog post on Monday.
Adam Lambert’s upcoming album climbed to #2 on the Amazon.com bestsellers list after it suddenly became available for pre-order on Sunday without fanfare.
Adam’s album, due out on November 24, sailed past Madonna, The Beatles, Susan Boyle and Michael Jackson.
Only Barbara Streisand stood in his way to the #1 spot…
Not anymore! This afternoon, Adam Lambert’s yet-to-be-named album, hit #1 on the Amazon Bestsellers list. Congrats Adam. Or should I say, congratulations to the fans–your pre-orders got him there.
He seems to have a collection of Bowie shirts. I noticed that too. Loved your discussion and yeah ‘“ beware the comments section at Perez’s Web site. I went there a grand total of one time and I felt the compulsion to sanitize my computer afterward.

I don’t think Adam’s sexuality matters to the younger viewers AT ALL, like my H.S. daughter. It is a huge shift of thought about homosexuality. It is the difference between, “Adam admits he is gay” and “Adam is gay”. Nothing to “admit” or be ashamed of; just is.
I have a jerky woman at work who is bugged by my huge Adam Lambert fantard-dom. One day she came up to me and loudly said, “So, I heard you went to see Adam Lambert. He’s gay, you know!” Me: Yep, I think that was pretty clear from the beginning, he never hid it, pictures all over the internet and such. Her: (Loudly) WELL, do you think he’s the man or the woman? What do you think? Me: (Casually, laughing) Oh, he said in an interview that he likes the top. Her: ((Shocked silence)) then…How can YOU think he is sexy? He’s gay. Me: Sexy is sexy. And he’s sexy. It’s okay if YOU don’t think he is, though.
There is a big difference between Clay Aiken, a closeted nerdy gay who seems repressed sexually, and Adam Lambert, who has lived openly as a gay man for years and is sex on wheels.
fianlly, I LOVE how Adam has worked so hard, is so talented, and metamorphized from that ginger ugly duckling into the Beeoootiful Black Swan!

Yes, mitla96, most young kids don’t give a flying crap if someone is gay. Certainly a different world than even ten or fifteen years ago. If you have teenagers around (or even those in their 20’s), that’s pretty apparent. Inside the AI bubble you get more of the throwbacks. But, in Adam’s case, he’s finally out of that bubble (“I don’t need their *** votes anymore”), and all bets are off. Free to soar, beautiful boy.

Regarding that ebay link for Adam’s tour clothing: the boots listed are a US size 9.5 – I distinctly recall an entire thread on AO about Adam’s shoe size – it was like 11 or 11.5 according to an interview that I remember seeing also. So are the boots fake, or ???

This last week has brought a lot of lurkers out of hiding. Yay!!! Don’t go away now.
Especially you Andysgirl. Near the beginning of this thread, when there was a big crush of postings about other stuff, you asked if we’d heard about the DDD site. But nobody responded and you haven’t posted since !!! So, if you’re still out there lurking, come back.
I think it was Spring2009 who first introduced us to the DDD Forum and those dudes who like to discuss great vocalists. As you know they’ve put Adam at #2 on their “most technically skilled” list but also #1 on their “Best live performances”. They’ve (almost) given Adam his own thread and they’re trying to pinpoint the highest and the lowest limits of his range. I think that they’re gearing up to put him on a few of their overall “greatest” lists but he just hasn’t put enough material out there as yet. Anyway, his skills are definitely appreciated over there and they’re hoping that at least some of his next moves stay in the “rock vocalist” category. And they’re … waiting … waiting to hear more … just like the rest of us.
I love lurking over there but I think at least one of us is an occasional poster as well.

I think that you might be wrong about all kids not caring about whether or not somebody is gay. Tween and younger teenage boys care ALOT! In their minds, calling each other out as gay is one of the worst things you could possibly do or have done to you. It’s a big bad stigma until they get further through the horrible years. And then, hopefully, it goes away. And it probably does for most or should I say for the most evolving.
Maybe its the revenge of the laundry lady. Or,….some real smart designer did some knock-offs.

OK, can I admit I just teared up? Thanks readon. I will listen to our boy in my car on the way home tonight. I feel like I did the day of the finale (before the results). Hopeful, happy, proud.
Wow, wish I could afford the auctions. You KNOW they are gonna go for big bucks. She’s got a reserve on them (reserve is the “secret” lowest amount the seller is willing to let them go for), so no one has come close to her minimum asking bid yet. I’d love the BVoC/U.
Gotta say something about the boots. I don’t know about you folks, but when I buy shoes and boots I have to try everything on. And I have shoes ranging from size 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7 and even a 7.5. I’m normally a 6.5. And if they are European (I think Aldo is) they run completely differently from US shoe sizes. I bet Adam’s got shoes and boots in varying sizes as well – so I wouldn’t judge their authenticity on the size. My guess is he wanted the boots to fit on the tighter side because of all the dancing he was going to do. (Just can’t wait, though, for the snarky comments that will be inspired by the fact that they aren’t 11 or 11.5 as he’s stated is his “usual” size.)
