wow. Both songs are great, but I really love Whataya Want From Me A LOT!!
I am now convinced that this is the best album to come out of the Idol machine yet. Adam’s vocals are insanely good, the beats rock and I love the lyrics of everything I’ve heard. Still can’t wait for Fever.
ITA. I really like MP and intend to play that a lot at the gym (along with FYE, which I already have), but I want to cry when I hear WYWFM. It’s so…personal. I know Pink wrote it, but I feel like Adam could have. Wow. Very touching.
I am now a proud member of Generation Jones. Is that b/c of Shirley Jones, the matriarch of Partridge Family? Because seriously, I remember hearing that those us (I guess 1963-67 or something) were considered the Brady Bunch generation.
Yay, tis62! How cool is that? Adam is introducing a whole new generation to kick!ass music. See, he appeals to all generations. That is what is so cool about him.
I’m thinking Master Plan should have been the first single. lol It is sooo good and the message is on point!! Being I’m Adam’s age I definitely say we are part of a new generation!! Plus, the video and live performance would be amazing. how can anyone not identify with the lyrics???
As we have no info on who wrote MP, I have tweeted Greg Wells and Monte Pittman for more information.
Quite easily actually. I love Adam and I think “Whataya Want From Me” is awesome but as a member of this “new” generation, I don’t identify with that song or its message at all.
Not sure where to post this….
FYE’s national radio debut @OpenHouseParty
# Oh yeah, Idol fans…tonight national radio debut of new Adam Lambert song! Open House Party rocks. about 1 hour ago from Twitterrific
I think Master Plan is the song that was mentioned..
I just wanted to join everyone in saying how impressed I am by Adam’s 2 songs. When I first heard the smaller snippet of WWFM, I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite. But hearing the entire song really made a difference to me. I think it is the bomb, and has great hit potential! I am also in love with Master Plan…so funky and cool. I love it just as much. I continue to be amazed at just how many of these songs I really, really, like. This has NEVER happened to me before. Is it just me, or are there lots of potential hits on this album? Just wondering. I am such a fan that it is hard to tell. Adam really does make me interested in music again.
I listened to the whole show last weekend hoping to hear FYI-no luck. But I will try again tonight!
But I am not sure what to listen for. FYE already had its debut on Ryan’s show right? So what is debuting on House Party?
Does anyone have a link to listen to Open House Party? and it’s time?
This was announced on their twitter @OpenHouseParty when the show started, as a national debut. You can call in your requests to open house phone line 800-669-1010.. their playlist is based all on requests.
I reposted this to the Idol Headlines for 11/14/09 thread thinking it was more appropriate there. There are more posts about this there..
Open House Party airs every Saturday and Sunday night live from 7 to midnight Eastern and Mountain time, 6-11 PM Central and Pacific time.

Going back a few pages, but…
Apparently Jamie King will be working with Adam, although the word “tour” wasn’t specifically used. Per McDonald/Selznick Associates, which represents Jamie King:
Congratulations to MSA client Jamie King, who is set to work with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert. King, along with Associate Director Stefanie Roos, will direct Lambert’s upcoming performances and appearances.

Yes, it was. Check the title bar:
“Jamie King to direct Adam Lambert’s upcoming tour”
LOL! Oops. Leave it to me to miss those pesky little details…
There will be many songs released down the road. There might be special editions offered with songs not on the regular FYE, there will be international versions w/different songs, there will be single releases w/bonus tracks, etc. Lots of songs will turn up on CDs, per all the ways mentioned. I know how you feel about this. I always will buy the CD if the music is important to me. I will then rip the CD into my computer using WMA format, vbr at the highest setting.
If you like every song or nearly every song why bother with iTunes? I want the CD for the higher quality. I only use iTunes to cherry-pick songs in cases where I don’t like the rest of that album. I won’t be doing that with Adam.
If “Down the Rabbit Hole” is an iTunes-only release however, we will never see that one on any physical CD. I’m very curious to see what the bonus track is on the FYE collector’s Edition. I would think that it couldn’t be “Down the Rabbit Hole,” right? But, I was surprised to see that one was “Master Plan,” when that is also on the iTunes deluxe album…so who knows. iTunes prolly will however have at least one track that you can’t get anywhere else.
So I guess WalMart will not have an exclusive track on FYE?? Apparently they do for Kris…so I suppose we would know by now. Oh well.
I was able to download both songs because I bought the special edition. They’re both really, really good. They both have great hooks. “Whatya Want from Me” is my fav.
Hmmm.
Not feeling Master Plan. I gave it 3 listens – all it takes to hook me usually – and it left no impression at all. Oh well.
I’m not much enamoured of WWFM either, possibly because I don’t really like Pink and this sounds far more Pink-ish than Adam-ish to me. I can see why others would like it though and why there might be some hit potential.
Of the longer clips we’ve heard – and I refuse to judge by the 30 second snippets – my favourites are Music Again (by a fair distance) and Sleepwalker. Tedder’s sound might be played out for some people but I like it a lot and, considering the recent airplay successes he’s had, US radio seems to like it a lot too. If they’re thinking of releasing Sleepwalker they should probably do it sooner rather than later though in case radio starts to get bored with Tedder’s productions.
Music Again is what I’m really excited about and would like to see as a single for the UK if they do in fact intend to promote him here. The Hawkins connection could surely help get his foot through the door at radio since The Darkness were very popular a few years back, and the song itself is an absolute friggin’ earworm – I haven’t been able to get it out of my head for days
With a suitably fun (campy) video I think this could be a very good song to launch him here.
I’ll be interested to see how it all plays out…
We were at friends’ house last night and the teenagers had the local “top 40″ radio station on. I wasn’t listening too close until I heard a familiar voice. I got closer to the radio and they were playing WWFM! I have never heard them play FYE but they were already playing WWFM. It surprised me that they were playing it already. It really fit well with the other songs too.
It also helps that it’s a P!nk song. I think that will help it get radio play
Master Plan would be perfect for the Glee cast!
I feel a little agitated when I listen to WWFM because I am continually hunting for Adam’s voice from beneath all those synthetic noises. Adam’s voice is one of the most pure, authentic, perfectly pitched voices IN EXISTENCE. It doesn’t need the same cover-ups as Britney and some of the other pop singers. As I have heard some of the great jazz musicians state, background music for great singers should be like a drapery spread out behind the unique sounds of their voices…to extend the length and affect of the voice…like the musicians on AI often accomplished. Instead, the souless bang-bang steel-drum type sounds too often compete with and drown out the very voice we have come to love (except during Soaked and a couple of others). I wonder to myself if the musicians want equal attention as the star because they certainly are not complementing his voice. In fact, though I love the lyrics and melody I find the arrangements to be unimaginative and undeserving of a great singer. I can see punctuating songs with electronics but to stab and jab them all the way through is an insult to a beautiful song and voice.
Beverly,I agree with everything you just said. The song’s okay, but I’m disappointed that you can’t really tell anything is special about Adam’s voice.
WOW, some interesting theory is running around out here. I listened to Master Plan and I like it so much.!!!!!
For me,This is a all encompassing song, of the young, of each generation, who are questioning and outright rejecting some of societies tradition,
faiths, institutions, commonly held beliefs or erroneous science of each preceeding generation. This has been going on certainly since the 60’s
and many people have been waiting for the “Age of Aquarius.”
This should be the Anthem for new thought, new ideas, and for, putting the Humane back into humanity!!So include G&L’s, atheists, and god loving revisionists, as well as, the differences celebrated by persons of good and pure intent, such as enviromentalists, and fighters for peace and equality.
It’s a great song….Claim it!!!!!
Ok, just a little off topic. I picked up Details Mag today!!!! I think that cover shot is one of my favorite Adam looks(little bit of sulky BB).
Reread the Article…….quite good and then this little gem of a comment……
“I don’t want (my music) to be a political or social thing right away. Eventually I would love to mess with that, but it’s a tricky, tricky road”.
So,….HMMMMmmm??????
Not feeling “Master Plan,” just doesn’t fit with the vibe of the rest of the album, plus he seems to old to sing the lyrics. It’s a teen anthem to me. ymmv.
Love Whaddya Want from Me (or however it’s spelled!). Sounds like a top 40 hit to me. But I still love FYE and TfM (which sounded great in the theater, btw).
