cher, I got there @4:30 am. CBS has us lined up along east 59th street and moved us onto the plaza @6:00 am, I think – wasn’t really looking at the time, too busy chatting with other fans and having a good time. The Early Show started @ 7:00 am. As a resident New Yorker, I didn’t find it cold for this time of year. It was 50 degrees when I got on line, not windy and I was very warmly dressed. There were a lot of people there to see Adam, hundreds and hundreds at very least. 4evrmomof4 who I was standing with said that she heard that there were @1,000 people attending. Thanks, cher, I was so happy I could be there, too.

BTW-on the one Jim C video, Adam talks about the solo solo lyric on Strut. I sent him this tweet way back when people were discussing the redundancy of that lyric. Guess I was right!

I know it’s early to be worrying about this, but do you think Adam will still be on Ryan’s New Years Eve show? I was planning on finally staying up til midnight. The show is on ABC? If they drop him, does CBS have a show?

I think by the time the NYE show rolls around, the fallout from the AMAs will be a distant memory. Plus, by its very definition, it’s a late night show, lol.

The live performances were incredible. After the show ended, Tommy and Monte walked right past me. Unfortunately, it happened so quickly, I couldn’t get my camera set up for a photo, but I can say that Tommy is really quite dramatic looking in person.

Thanks for the live report, GaGaGlambert I cannot wait to see Adam and his band out on tour. I think it will be a treat.

Well, she’s not canceling it until nearly the end of 2011, so there’s still plenty of time! Something tells me that she will want to have him on!

NPR’s Linda Holmes’ wonders how a performer forgets he’s on television.

My son says he must have been on drugs at the AMA and that was why he fell. Who am I to judge?

However, his performances on the Early Show and David Letterman proved the guy can sing. He really needed solid performances, and that they were.

Though his air time on the David Letterman show was 3 minutes, he did a lot of face time on the Early Show. I think I liked the fact that he sang two songs. Really terrific job.

BTW, Adam was on television for 24 minutes this morning.

it’s pretty cool that his band is eye candy… Sometimes, visually, the backing band isn’t the most TV-ready. Adam’s has a very cool look ‘“ very coordinated. Plus, they’re good.

Had the good fortune of being at CBS Friday morning to see Adam on The Early Show. While waiting on line in the dark, those of us on east 59th Street were able to see inside the studio while Adam and the band rehearsed and did sound checks. Not only did Adam sound and look amazing, the band did, too. Collectively, they are all very interesting visually. The live performances were incredible. At Target tonight I saw that Adam’s CD was completely sold out, as was Susan Boyle’s. But there were plenty of Rhianna CDs left.
Oh, and Adam was hosting Sirius hits 1, a complete surprise. I have to tell you I squeed to my teen son’s chagrin when I saw on my Sirius radio the words ‘ADAM LAMBERT IS IN CONTROL!’ 
And now here, Letterman is just coming on.

ITA…and what was with the 5min or so of commercial just before he came on. My mother called me to say she swares that all the advertisers wanted to make sure they were being featured around Adam’s performance and putting them all on just before he came on was the only way they could do it. My mom such the conspiracy theorist. But is was an inordinately amount of commercials in a row. Maybe she was right!!!

Just wanna say that I’m a first time poster, and for what my opinion is worth, I think the entire performance went to hell in a hand basket the minute he fell.

Welcome nya1121. I think you’re right about the fall, but to me he sounded a little off from the minute the choreography started. Probably just a combination of underrehearsal and “adrenaline” as he’s said.

I supported Adam after the AMAs and I’m fine with his interviews since then. I don’t remember who posted that “Dancing with the Stars” video yesterday with Derek and Joanna, but I think that Adam ought to copy that onto his ipod and just take it out and play it when an interviewer brings up this subject again. He is absolutely right that people have become so inured to sexual suggestiveness that they just take it as par for the course (most of the time, with having a gay guy do it being a notable exception).

But you know what was the most shocking thing about this whole episode? Hundreds of posts after the AMAs, and I don’t think there was one about his hair. Usually there are hundreds just about his hair! I don’t like the hairstyle that he had at the AMAs. Actually, I am blaming that hair for everything. It was built up so high that it was catching the sound waves and making him sound flat! It was so heavy that when he bent over going up the stairs, it just bowled him right over and that’s why he fell! I just hate that hair. . He looked great today though. I loved seeing him laughing with Michelle Collins, that was great.
