RCA put out a press release today announcing the release of Adam Lambert’s debut album, For Your Entertainment. It’s got songwriter and producer credits listed, plus some new info on television appearances.
“I feel so lucky to have been granted true opportunity to work with some of the top producers and writers in popular music,” Says Adam. “This album is a reflection of their genius and the collaborative energy that they were gracious enough to share with me.
The appearances:
- Sunday November 22 – Perform “For Your Entertainment” on the American Music Awards
- Wednesday November 25 – Good Morning America
- Wednesday November 25 – Late Show With David Letterman (will pre-tape Monday, November 23)
- More shows announced soon
The Letterman gig is impressive. Dave rarely books Idols fresh off the show.

The super-sleuths had the credits nearly perfect. There was some question about who wrote “If I Had You”–it’s a Max Martin production with help from Savan Kotecha and Johan Shellback.
While an EW article credited “Loaded Smile” to Adam and Linda Perry, the song is strictly a Perry creation, and Adam gets a writing credit on the Rivers Cuomo tune, “Pick U Up”

It looks like FYE is listed under Albums again.. it’s #29 in pop listings.
I was talking to a friend tonight and she said “did you know that Adam has a song out?” Well of course I did and I asked her if she had heard it on the radio. She said she had just been browsing i-tunes and saw it at around #40 and listened to it and liked and bought it. I just thought that was funny she didn’t really know about it and just happened across it. And with i-tunes so messed up. I’m glad she and her daughter liked it. I told her details about the album and she’s going to get it. And told her about TFM and the AMAs.
So strange.. in iTunes FYE is the 5th song listed under Adam’s songs with no dark bars, but earlier today when I looked it was the 2nd song with at least 3 or 4 dark bars.

iTunes is messed up. It won’t let me gift FYE to friends. It keeps saying that my credit card is denied (the balance is high, but not THAT high, come on). I can purchase it multiple times for myself with the same credit card, but I can’t gift it to anyone. Arrrggg.
Same thing happened to me OutlandoGirl. I tried gifting it several times and got “denied” for some (?) reason! iTunes needs a “tune-up” I think……damn.

It’s not ranking. Earlier I saw it at Pop Songs listed at no.22 with TFM at No.48. What happened ?
Or is the iTunes system messed up because Album and single has same title ?
Earlier it got listed as Album in the Top Sellers and then all of sudden it showed in the Top Pop Song. And now FYE is MIA.
Could it be that each and every fan had finished buying from Amazon and AO and so no one left to buy at iTunes ?
Adam has to work harder to earn more customers and more sales . He already looked sleepy and exhausted in those pictures with his best friend that lovely girl.

There seems to be a major glitch with Itunes, it’s not only US but Internationally, so I don’t think any one knows for sure what the rankings are.
This actually happened to me over a week ago when I tried to give my son a gift certificate. I went to the support page and sent an email describing the problem. They emailed back, checked it and fixed the problem So they may have been going off the tracks even before Adam’s single went up for sale.
Seems iTunes has “exploded”– wonder what’s going on?
Hopefully by tomorrow iTunes will have a better report card for FYE.
I put some anecdotal information in the Headlines thread about people outside of the Idol bubble also noticing the problems with the iTunes rankings. No one really knows anything, but it’s for sure screwed up and it’s not just us that have noticed.
Unless you are a diehard AI follower, you probably haven’t heard FYE yet. I would expect it to take off after the AMA’s and other TV spots, especially if he kills it at the AMA’s.
relax people….1) itunes has been screwed up for the past day or two — it is affecting all of the chart rankings….just ignore til it is fixed; 2) i have no doubt that there will be a banner for fye, and more of a push regarding the song, but not until closer to the album release and the ama/gma/letterman etc. performances (in fact I would guarantee it)…all is good

Looks like iTunes is back to normal again. FYE is #48 in music and #24 in Pop.
Also FYE is #50 on Canada iTunes Music and #27 Pop
