RCA put out a press release today announcing the release of Adam Lambert’s debut album, For Your Entertainment. It’s got songwriter and producer credits listed, plus some new info on television appearances.
“I feel so lucky to have been granted true opportunity to work with some of the top producers and writers in popular music,” Says Adam. “This album is a reflection of their genius and the collaborative energy that they were gracious enough to share with me.
The appearances:
- Sunday November 22 – Perform “For Your Entertainment” on the American Music Awards
- Wednesday November 25 – Good Morning America
- Wednesday November 25 – Late Show With David Letterman (will pre-tape Monday, November 23)
- More shows announced soon
The Letterman gig is impressive. Dave rarely books Idols fresh off the show.

The super-sleuths had the credits nearly perfect. There was some question about who wrote “If I Had You”–it’s a Max Martin production with help from Savan Kotecha and Johan Shellback.
While an EW article credited “Loaded Smile” to Adam and Linda Perry, the song is strictly a Perry creation, and Adam gets a writing credit on the Rivers Cuomo tune, “Pick U Up”

When should we expect to hear the single on the radio? Anything we should be doing? I’m pretty new to how all this works but the more I listen to FYE the more I like it. It’s a genius pick for first single.

I know.. I’m so excited about it. I don’t really like Letterman but he has better ratings than The Tonight Shows or Jay Leno’s… and I love that RCA put Adam in Late Night show with Dave… woo hooo.. so hopefully this will make people outside the AI buble notice Adam and his amazing talent (voice).

Word on the street (from someone who is going, posted a few days ago) is that Adam is SINGING but not being interviewed. Which is just fine with me. For now.
Adam is a unique individual, in every positive way.
I swear, his collaborator list looks like someone went up to me and said, “Hey, Calliope — I know you like Adam, but what else do you like about pop music?” or something. And went with it. So exciting.
I cannot wait to hear the full versions, especially the Rivers/Adam/Greg song.
I am so glad for all these appearances. I think he is supposed to be on Ellen on 12/1. I am sure we will get updated on this! I just am so proud of Adam and all he has accomplished this year! I can’t imagine how we could have done without him, can any of you? I know many of you, like myself, latched on to his stardom from the auditions and never let go! I am surprised I haven’t gotten into trouble at work for all the times during the day I Yahoo and Google Adam Lambert and hit MJs Bigblog! We have this new Imac(hubby’s) 27″ screen and he had the video of TFM on for me last night when I got home. 1080 Pix. It was just awesome…I had been watching it a lot on my pc but, he watched it 3 times and really liked it. Also, he liked FYE and said it was really catchy and would do well…..I am thrilled as I have been on”overkill”
with Adam for months now with hubby….I am just so proud of Adam
and all he has done and all he is going to do. I can’t wait to see him perform on the AMA’s and the others….that song, TFM, just had to be nominated for an Oscar….I have heard them all through the years and

One BIG advantage that Adam has is that he is gay.
Why do I say this? Adam is a great role model of a gay dude that is also a very cool human being. Since Hollywood and the music Industry is very supportive of the gay lifestyle, Adam is the kind of guy they want to promote.
Yes, he is a brilliant singer, but this doesn’t hurt either.

I’m excited about Letterman!!
I never weighed in on the clips yesterday but I really like what I’m hearing! I’d always hoped for an eclectic pop album from Adam, like Kelly’s All I Ever Wanted, and as I listened to the clips, I felt like I got my wish. I read a few comments and I was kind of bummed to see not many liked “Whataya Want From Me” and “Pick U Up.” I actually like the sound of those two a lot. I can pick out some Weezer influence on “Pick U Up” and after seeing the Rivers Cuomo interview in which he talked about the song, I’m really looking forward to the whole thing! It’s kind of funny how he seemed to just stumble into a collaboration with Adam, lol.
I’m a sucker for Ryan Tedder’s sound so I absolutely love “Sleepwalker.” “Fever” sounds really cute and Scissor Sister-y. I couldn’t really get a feel for “Strut” from the clip they used, but it’s got potential. Honestly, the only one I really wasn’t feeling was “Loaded Smile” but hopefully the full song will change my mind.
I WANT EVERYTHING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I will calm down now. Need to get back to my wine and headphones.

Although that track (Loose yourself) from 8 Mile was very successful on the radio and the movie was successful as well…if TFM would pick up just a little more steam then I think it could be a contender

That’s Adam, so appreciative of those people that help and collaborate with him. He never failed to acknowledge the band and those who helped him arrange songs on AI and after AI, he hasn’t changed. Adam just throws such good energy out there in those compliments and acknowledgements, and you can definitely see the good karma and wishes returned to him. I wish him all the success in the world and I know, I’ll be along for the ride no matter where his career takes him. Small venues, large venues…doesn’t matter. Adam’s voice and talent have gained him a fan forever.
