Adam Lambert on the Chelsea Lately Show Plus: Surpise Leno Appearance

UPDATE: Check out Adam Lambert’s surprise cameo on last night’s Jay Leno show. It’s “fun with mistletoe!” You can guess the rest. Heh. Adam was all over our TV screens last night: Check out the tubey HERE.

Adam Lambert sat down with Chelsea Handler on her E! late night chatfest, Chelsea Lately tonight.

Chelsea totally cracked Adam up, telling him he has an open invitation to grind whatever he wants into his crotch on her show.     Good to know!

Watch the video, after the JUMP…

Well, tonight was going to be Jimmy Kimmel :-( However, I am happy Allison is the one who gets to do it instead – if anyone deserved the extra exposure right now, it’s her.

I think I’ll be re-watching all the recent vids tonight ;-) (SYTYCD, Chelsea, etc.)

the way he sits?? Just when I thought I had heard all of the silly stuff, someone surprises me!

I work with mostly men and they all sit the same way. So do all of my male relatives. Its a man thing…called comfort!

I’ve never much paid attention, but I’m pretty sure most of the men I know sit this way as well. Especially the tall ones, with long legs. A chair that height really leaves them no other choice – other then the two legs bent to the side like a 1950’s secretary taking dictation.

Just got home and am trying to catch up a bit……..
I wasn’t too crazy about the Chelsea interview, either. My favorite interview so far is “The View”, but I am looking forward to Leno on Monday. I’m wondering if he will both interview and perform.
About Adam sitting with his legs apart, that is a very masculine thing, and I personally LOVE it!

Chelsea’s hit or miss with me, generally. This time’s a hit, but that may be more appropriately credited to Adam. :-)

But good for her for supporting him, openly, unequivocally, and unconditionally. Love her for that.

    Suebrody…glad to see your back!

I don’t watch Chelsea Lately very often. She can get too snarky for me sometimes but, that said, I do think she likes Adam and appreciates what he’s doing. But, being a comic, she’s naturally going for the joke. I’m sure Adam knew all about her before he went on the show. He seemed to have a good time.

Now…waiting for the Leno show since the Adam cameo walk-on was alot ot fun!

I saw Cory Monteith on Chelsea, he was sitting the same way (and is also tall), so no big deal to me.

I was surprised at how straight Adam answered her (few) questions. It seems like she likes sarcastic banter, and perhaps he could have played along more. I thought he seemed a little nervous.

    But so gorgeous as always!

I really don’t find how Adam sat at the Chelsea Lately show to be indicative of his personality, of fakeness or a need to flaunt his sexuality, or trying to stir controversy’ ¦from how he sat in a chair. But evidently that’s just me. I found it indicative of his being a guy’ ¦sitting in a chair and possibly a guy sitting in a shorter chair.

Actually, I was responding to two different comments made by others. One commented on how he sat with his legs so far apart, so I said that I, too, noticed it and wasn’t crazy about it. I don’t think most guys sit with their legs that far apart, it was noticable and I don’t usually notice how most guys sit. To those who said it was “fucked up” of me to feel that way, and that it’s a “different standard for gay guys,” not true at all. A few guys sit that way and I think it’s rude, that’s just how I feel and they are not gay by the way. Guys sit with their legs apart, but not that far apart usually. Someone else noticed it too and commented before I did. It does feel like a dumb thing to talk about, but that’s what we do on message boards, comment on small things.

My husband was 6′4″ and never sat with his legs that far apart as a norm. I see tall guys sitting all the time and legs are comfortably apart, not stretched as far as possible. Maybe it had something to do with the height of the chair. Or maybe it’s part of Adam’s image that he wants to project, in an effort to be sexy. Don’t know. Just commenting on a message board, not “fucked up” and not making anti-gay statements (that’s a laughable idea and so far from the truth).

Others said that he was “so natural”; to me, he doesn’t come across that way, so I joined in the discussion to say that. It had nothing to do with the way he sits. It’s his personality that seems on the surface to be “aw shucks” so open and natural, but I think he’s actually more calculating and this is part of a persona. But that is a totally different subject than how he was sitting on Chelsea.

Actually, most guys do sit like that. And secondly I agree, I don’t notice how guys sit either, which is why I didn’t notice Adam. I can’t believe people were looking at his legs. lol wow

  • unique28v:

That Leno video is priceless. lol Soooo funny.

  • lucy:

Here’s an experiment. Go to Google images and type in “man” and “sitting.” …. Then count how many pictures come up of guys sitting just like that. There seem to be only a couple of ways that guys normally sit, and that’s clearly one of them.

  • Does anyone know if we can watch this tonight. I went to the website but was confused and didn’t see a link to view, plus no one is talking about it.
I heard somewhere that it starts at 7 PT

I was disturbed by a couple of things in this interview. First, was the reference to the red hair and the second was how heavy he used to be. In a way, I was reminded of another singer with a great voice who was obsessed with weight. Karen Carpenter only saw a chubby girl when she looked in the mirror and died of anorexia.

Adam has done everything he can to obliterate the image of “Opie” by covering up his red hair and freckles with black dye and makeup. But does he still see the chubby redhead when he looks in the mirror? How much weight does he have to lose before he’s happy with his image?

Some of the cruelest comments during the AI Live Tour had to do with being fat, when he obviously was not overweight. Perhaps all he needs is to tone up. I’d much rather see him lift some weights and get in shape rather than this diet that is making him so thin. This diet thing scares me.

On a lighter note–I think Adam is made for the screen, whether the movies or television. Not only do I enjoy his singing, but I love to hear him talk and laugh. He has said he wasn’t a very good actor, but I think he has great comedic timing and would do well. And I guess I’ll also go on record to say I’m all for his sitting in a low chair…

  • OK . I found something streaming live at

My husband is 6′4″ also. (I’m not kidding) This is exactly how he sits. He played b-ball in college with lots of other tall guys and they sat the same way. Maybe it doesn’t look as open if you are short with stubby legs instead of tall with long, lean legs.

My hubby and I are not too far out of college, so I’ve seen hundreds of guys over the past 4 years sitting in classrooms and lecture halls. Young guys sit like Adam does. It’s not over-sexual, it’s normal.

Like I said before, poor guy can’t even sit right.

  • Kate8:

I hope Adam doesn’t get too obsessed with dieting and being overly thin either. It is as hard for men in the spotlight as it is for women nowadays. The TV and photos add pounds, so people will say someone is overweight, when the person actually might be normal or even somewhat skinny.
