Adam Lambert Reveals More New Songs, Tapes Oprah Segment
Adam Lambert will be featured on an upcoming Oprah, air date yet to be determined.
Fans were solicited by Oprah Winfrey’s producers to take part in a show focusing on reality show contestants. Fans invited to the taping, taking place this afternoon in Chicago, were asked to submit questions for Adam. From what I understand, Adam hasn’t hopped a plane to Chicago, he’ll be interviewed via Skype from Los Angeles.
I’ll post more details as they become available.
This article from the print edition of Entertainment Weekly reveals more new songs from Adam’s upcoming album, due to be released November 24:
- “Music Again” a “stomping electro-metal ditty” written by former Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins. Rob Cavallo mentioned “Music Again” along with “Winners” and “Suburban Decay” as a few of the tracks he produced for Adam in a recent interview.
- “What Do You Want From Me” – Written by Pink and Max Martin. According to one of Pink’s fansites, the song was a leftover from her Funhouse sessions. “It works on a relationship level, but I also relate to the sense of talking to the public. Like, ‘This whole thing’s a little freaked out, but please have faith in me because I won’t disappoint you,” says Adam.
- “Loaded Smile” – Written by Adam and Linda Perry – “It’s a bit dark, with all the vocals in falsetto, It feels like you’re floating in space” says Adam.
About “Strut” the tune Adam wrote with Kara DioGuardi, Adam says, “It’s a Gary Glitter/T.Rex-type empowerment lyric. You’re not gonna find love and happiness unless you let your hair down and strut your stuff.”
This week, Adam and his team will be choosing which songs will make the album.
Adam cites Muse and the Killers as influences and says, “It’s as if a ’70s time capsule blasted off into space and you’re watching it through a holographic filter…That’s my big vision. … Glam is back, mother f***ers.”

I love Adam’s vocals from 3:10 – 3:28 absolutely awesome!!! and the end is awesome, too!!!
It sounds like the studio versions of Idol, especially Feeling Good and A Change is Gonna Come and One. He knows how to adjust for a recording.
Also just like when I saw him singing in Wicked.
Guess you never listened to the live recording of Brigadoon.
Not electronically smoothed out.
I’ve just started a thread for this.
Just goes to show that tastes are different. I love the ending, not crazy about the beginning. It’s beautiful as well but the ending really shows what Adam can do.
I know. It’s obviously wjat caused the confusion and the early release. Oh well they will have to release to Itunes today if they don’t want to lose anymore money.
Guess you’ll continue to hate him, then.
It’s okay… we all have different tastes.
His voice is definitely not electronically smoothed out, although I’m sure we can and will disagree on this as well.
And have a great day!
“The end of the song encompasses everything I hated about Adam on Idol.”
“I love the ending, not crazy about the beginning”
These are quotes from different posters above.
Wow! We knew Adam was polarizing on Idol but now he is polarizing within a song. LOL
Song is a major win in my opinion. Love it ALL!
The end of the song encompasses everything I loved about Adam on Idol. That screechy, loud, screamy ’singing-with-the-tongue-out-of-the-mouth’ high notes that are music to my ears… I LOVE IT!!!
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO!!!
Adam’s voice is amazing.
He quietly sneaks his voice into your being, then grabs your inner soul and has his way with you. After you experience that, there’s no turning back.
It’s so easy to understand why industry giants have been fangirling over him. He’s got “it” and they all know it.
Righteous. He has “it”.
Guys, I highly doubt this was a screw up on Sony and itunes part…these days many songs are posted on youtube to generate interest before they are put up for sale…by releasing it in a few places and on youtube they generate excitement and publicity…i think they know exactly what they are doing…dont forget, this song is to promote a movie — that it benefits adam is just an extra benefit
It’s 8:56 CST, and I gotta go to sleep. I have got the song on repeat and I just don’t know how to behave. I love it. It’s not what I expected and more than I expected. Time for Miracles.
