Still not a huge fan of the song… but I’m loving that he uses some of his lower register. It’s gorgeous.
I was a teenager in the 80s. I HATE POWER BALLADS. Nirvana was exactly that for me!
I heart Allison’s song better. I have a use for it. Not going to work out to a power ballad. LOL.
The “does Adam scream vs. Adam doesn’t scream” debate is so frustrating. I’m not critical of either side. It just seems like it has been discussed to death.
Well, whatever it is people want to call it (and I call it singing, well actually wailing btw), one thing’s for sure, he isn’t going to stop doing it! He’s been given an awesome gift that not many people have.
I don’t call it wailing. I love his voice and it’s practically orgasmic to me (in a way that touches my soul), if singing can be orgasmic in that way. Adam’s voice just touches something inside me. Love it. The only other person who has touched me like this is Ted Neeley.
A great voice is just that. Adam has one. A great song is different. TOM is not a great song.
Well, I meant it as a good thing!
When it’s soft and sweet, it’s singing. When he’s rocking it out, it’s an awesome rock wail! But that’s just me…
I just checked iTunes and its not there. If you buy from MJ’s link from Amazon, is it a download or a physical CD?
It still hasn’t been released. It looks like it won’t be until the 27th. So far Amazon is only showing that the MP3 file will be available for download on the 27th. I don’t know when or if they’ll release the single on a physical CD (of course it will be on the movie soundtrack, but you’ll have to pay around $11 for that). I believe MJ’s link will take you to the MP3 download — if and when they do offer it on CD you can also of course go through MJ’s Amazon link.
So, I was out of town all weekend with limited web service, but I fianlly got a chance to listen to TFM! OMFG! LOVE IT! God his voice is SOO amazing on it – especially at the end! AHHH! Can’t wait to officially buy it. I will never be able to catch up on the comments written on it, but I definitely give it my two thumbs up!
Beginning definitely sounds a little country, which is interesting. Actually, it almost has the sound of a Daughtry ballad (like “Over You”) and while I love me my Daughtry, I have to say, Adam’s voice blows his out of the water (well, no surprise there, since Adam blows almost ANYONE out of the water – ok, that just sounded sort of dirty, sorry!) Anyway, have to listen to this 20 gazillion more times!
And as for the “screaming” discussion earlier: I agree, everyone has different tastes and prefers different styles of singing and music, but to those who criticize Adam for screaming – seriously listen to Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, or countless others – they all do the same thing, if not worse, but you don’t often hear people complaining about that. Just saying. Of course ymmv, etc.
Beautiful voice, wonderful song – love it!
