- JD says that Ramiele Malubay was a good interview. He said, ”Honestly, if she had shown as much personality on stage as she did in her interview last night, she’d still be in the competition.”
- Regarding David Archuleta’s dad and David Cook’s arrangements: “Whenever you have a show watched by (almost) 30 million people, gossip is going to follow it around.”
- The contestants are given internet access and are split into two camps. One, are the contestants who refuse to look at the blogs, news, tabloids, etc. Second, are the ones that seek it out and want to read everything.
- JD said, ”I am sure David Archuleta is aware of what people are saying about his dad,” but he’s not going to comment on it.
- The way the show shields the contestants from the gossipy stuff is by limiting who they talk to while they are still on the show.
- The IGB fundraising goal is 100 million. Last year they raised over 70 million.
- American Idol Extra will be essentially live next week. The show will air at 10 pm ET. They will start taping at 9:30 PM. As they are wrapping up the one hour taping, the results show will have already started airing.

I think Michael is one who reads the forums. I only figure this because idf wanted michael to “give them a sign” (which they posted a picture of what they wanted him to do) to see if he reads it, and he did.
I don’t like them reading the blogs. If y’all are out there, stop it now! LOL. I hate to think we could actually be hurting someone’s feelings. It’s just snarky fun, we’re not supposed to be taken THAT seriously! You all can sing, even Kristy! Hee.

I loved all the downloads this week. Travelin Thru is great, Carly is better without the video but I need Michael’s video to make that song work for me. He was great musically but visually he was fantastic.
The contestants could use some of the more helpful sites for song selections, though, probably. And they could use the sites as indications for what to not do, if they’re actually aiming for the crown. Wonder if Archie’s been reading up (which I highly doubt is true, really) — he needs an up-tempo number soon; he’s starting to wear thin.
Speaking of Archie, it seems that it’s almost a 100% chance he’s going to go for another ballad full of messages what with next week’s theme and IGB and all. *sigh*

MJ, thanks for posting the full version of Pointy Pose. My DVR missed the beginning, too, including Jason’s exaggerated, bowlegged square dance moves. It was kind of like watching a Special Olympics production of “Oklahoma” but without the guilty feeling when you laugh. That Nigel is such a choreographer.

I’m so slow sometimes…i always wondered what the initials on David Cook’s guitar were for-they are for his brother. That’s pretty cool actually.
Brook White i think he is genuine in her feelings which is not bad at all and kind of wears her emmotions on her sleeve but so do I. I do not think her or Jason have the strongest vocals and both have quirks but I like thier quirks. People have different opinions though but I have a feeling they also will be trashed in the media ..I guess I finally feel how people felt about Elliott w/ his quirkeyness…they enjoyed it and made them smile.
OMG, imagine he actually reads this?! Maybe we should add for him to point at the camera, wink, and then blow us all a kiss so we’re sure it’s not a fluke. :’D

Grrrrrr. EVERY year I tell myself - do not get invested. Do NOT get invested. Yet, there is ALWAYS a contestant who gets my attention. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch this show solely for entertainment’s sake.

ITA about Cookie reading the boards. I think he reads the TWOP boards as well. Before the BJ performance, some of us were listening to his cover of Radiohead’s Creep and was in awe of his glory note. We were hoping he do it sometime and boy he did. There were also some who suggested that he should sing “Little Sparrow” this week and he did. Wierd.
