Oh No! Nigel Lythgoe told the crew at Good Day LA today that Season 7 SYTYCD contestant, Alex Wong has snapped the tendon in his other leg and will not be joining the So You Think You Can Dance All Stars as planned! The new injury happened on Saturday at an audition.
Alex spent the past year recovering from surgery due after he ruptured a tendon rehearsing a Bollywood routine for the show. The talented dancer was considered a shining star of Season 7 and his departure was mourned by many SYTYCD fans.
Dude has the worst luck!
Nigel confirmed to TV Guide that DWTS pro and SYTYCD alum Chelsie Hightower will join the All Stars, but Chelsie tweets that due to her DWTS contract, she’ll only appear once. “Very excited none the less!” she says.
The SYTYCD All Star team will be announced tonight on the Top 12 results show on FOX at 8/7c pm.
