I know right? This is the first time ever I’ve heard of conspiracy theories about Allison being protected by the show because she didn’t have to sing her heart out every night go get where she did without having ANY prior air time…right, she got to 4th and it had nothing to do with her talent and voice and she struggled because she’s not likeable…right, Simon, is that you?? Heh

Pottymouth: I apologize. There is some value to your opinion, even when it cannot be supported by any facts. Your opinion is pure speculation, and that’s ok, because it is your opinion. Many opinions are based on speculation.
That said, some logic, at least, should back it up. Below are some of your “speculations” I have problem with, mainly because are somewhat illogical:
They allow her to continue to Hollywood because Pink exists. This is silly, considering that in her audition she sang nothing remotely comparable with a Pink song (Natural Woman by ARETHA effing FRANKLIN!).
I believe they helped her along. How? I mean, you cannot just pull that out of your a** without something triggering it. The usual ways Idol helps contestants they like is by: profiling them before semi-finals; undeserved judges feedback; giving them the pimp spot (last of the night); better lighting; not having them go first; and others. If you can prove that Allison had any advantage over others in any of these, or in any born out of your imagination, I’ll buy your point (or at least consider it). But just stating “they helped her along” doesn’t pass the smell test.
They can’t take away votes from any of these contestants but that doesn’t mean they can’t add them! This is plain silly. If you can believe that can add them, why would you believe they can’t take them. Not to mention that you have no proof of this.
They wanted a girl to promote from this last season and preferably one with a rock style that is in right now. What! First, why is rock style “right now”? I mean, people like rock, but I don’t know why rock is more “Right Now” than other things. In fact, I would argue that “country” is “Right Now”. Taylor Swift, Carrie, even Kelly Pickler, for crying out loud!!!, are doing very well. The point is, rock is not more “right now” than it usually is, so your assertion makes no sense.
The girl would have been better off never to have been discovered on AI. Wow, this takes the cake. Because of AI, she is well known (better than without AI for sure), had a great tour, made money out of being in AI and on the tour, has an album, video, awesome writers to work with. WTF are you talking about?

LovedaRocker good argument! Funny thing is I just happened to watch her video here and I made the mistake of commenting on what I thought about her. I could care less if she is the next BIG thing or she gets dumped by her label in a year! I shouldv’e known never to comment on a contestant from the current season,their fans are like mother lions! I usually don’t comment at all. I say on to Season 9 and the new rocker chick who probably won’t become anything either because everyone is listening to Country music and not rock!!
What you posted was pretty much an accusation that she didn’t deserve to get to where she did and doubting that it was her talent that got her there. Of course you’re going to get a response from her fans, specially when we all feel like she deserved much better than how she was treated on the show. If you didn’t want people to question your conspiracy theory about her then posting about it wasn’t the best thing to do.
Wait, wasn’t part of your theory that they wanted a rocker chick because it was the “in thing” at the moment? So now you say it’s country, which one is it? Rock or country?

Definitely robbed of third place. Not because I don’t like Gokey (I do, actually), but because Gokey was absolutely terrible in Rock week. He should have been eliminated then.
I think pottymouth is referring to my post, in which I questioned why he/she/it thought that “Rock” was “right now”. I offered that, if anything, country is “right now”, with artists like Taylor, Carrie, and (even) Kelly Pickler doing very well. So pottymouth seems to be mocking/humoring me. Which is ok.
Just watched the video and I liked it! I think this song is growing on me. Liked the parts where she sings with her band the best. Her song was playing on one of those comcast tv music channels last night. My daughter had it on and I heard it from the other room. I immediately knew it was Alli. Hey, that’s a good thing!!
