Hope to see you all there, looking forward to hearing your comments on the new music. Thank you all for being so patient, We did it!!!

I missed Amanda when she was eliminated at #11 last season.  I found her gravelly rock-chops and Joplin-like moves very entertaining.  Also entertaining–her refreshing I-don’t-give-a-shit attitude that probably ensured her early demise, but also made for some pretty entertaining sound-bites, once she left the show.

I’ll be checking out her album, for sure.

Glad she’s doing what she wants to do. Doesn’t sound like she’s going to have major commercial success, but then again, that’s not likely what she wants either. But I hope she’s successful enough to make a career. I also found her to be entertaining on the show, but I wasn’t heartbroken when she left either.

I frequently disliked her performances on the show, but her response to being told to do a ballad—”Ballads are boring!”—made me laugh a lot.

Amanda was one of my 4 favorites this season (along with Brooke, Cookie and Jason) so I am thrilled! 2 down, 2 to go. :)

Hey I just might have to head over to the 8 second saloon and check Amanda out. I too loved her attitude and husky voice, not to mention that she is a fellow Hoosier. :)

Wish her the best of luck. She took the bull by the horns and took advantage of what Idol gained her. Good Luck Amanda!!

I read that she also posts a lot on VFTW…despite the fact I see her as the “anti-plant” (she also had no past experience in professional show business or other TV shows of any kind, something that of the top 12 only Ramiele and Chikezie could also say) and they don’t like plants there…

I somehow didn’t think Amanda would be one to pepper her blog with a plethora of exclamation marks…I think she sounded good on songs that totally fit her, but I also think there’s few of those. So maybe with writing that is specifically for her, she will do ok.

Good point. She doesn’t really strike me as the type to get that enthusiastic about anything. LOL!

gingerly and IdolFanatic, that was my first thought, too :) Happy for her with this new album, and hope things go well for her.

I liked her a lot while she was on the show. But, I grew very weary of her “I’m too good for this” attitude that manifested itself over and over after she was eliminated. It’s been said millions of times, but if you think you’re too good for the show, then don’t try out. (See Also: Leming, Josiah)

On another point, the whole VFTW thing generally amuses me, but they apparently aren’t self-aware enough to realize that they are as predictable as the the Idol fans they mock. Anyone who goes on and doesn’t do that well and then comes off the show and badmouths it immediately becomes a VFTW anti-hero.
