American Idol 10 Spoilers: The Attack of the 15 Year Olds!

Gangreen is back with another American Idol Season 10 spoiler update!  Today, she surveys the dreaded 15 year olds!  Idol has lowered the audition cutoff age from 16 to 15 this season, which means even more annoying precociousness will be coming our way come January 19.

She divides the kids into 3 different types.  What do you think of her classifications? And are you excited to see more teens on the Idol stage? Will Season 10 bring the music world the next Justin Bieber/Taylor Swift?

Attack of the 15 year olds!! The Idolverse has been filled with apprehension ever since the announcement that the age limit had been lowered to 15. Younger contestants have always been a contentious part of the contest.  These three spoiled 15 year olds are great illustrations of the different types of young contestants that populate the show.

Thanks again www.joesplaceblog.com

Danielle Pease – The first type of young contest, the one who actually acts their age. Danielle has an interesting tone, but it doesn’t sound like her voice is fully developed.  She also seems a bit awkward and clumsy on stage, which makes sense seeing as how the height of awkward and clumsy is 15 year olds.

Thia Megia – The second type of young contestant, the pageant bot.  Thia can certainly sing with power, but there is no character to her voice.  A contestant last year on America’s Got Talent, Thia has obviously been doing the child talent circuit for a while.  To me she comes across overly precocious, but Idol certainly has never been short on those types of contestants before.

Jessica Sanchez – The third type of young contestant, the one that is ready.  Like Thia, she also was on America’s Got Talent.  Her appearance was when she was only 9 though, and it seems like she has grown out of the pageant kid stage into a more mature artist. She has a great voice, a great look, good presence, and is very current.  I would put good money on this girl going FAR in the competition.
