  • Burnell Taylor – “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi
  • Angela Miller & Lazaro Arbos – “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen (Angie drew the short straw, obvs)
  • Kree Harrison – “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin
  • Burnell Taylor & Candice Glover – “The Letter” by The Box Tops
  • Janelle Arthur – “You May Be Right” by Billy Joel
  • Lazaro Arbos – “We Are The Champions” by Queen (OMFG. BYE LAZARO!) (Also kind of ballady)
  • Amber HolcombJanelle Arthur, & Kree Harrison will be performing, as a trio – TBD
  • Candice Glover  – “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones
  • Amber Holcomb – “What About Love” by Heart – (Uhm. Isn’t this a ballad?)
  • Angela Miller (with piano)  –  “Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence featuring Paul McCoy (kind of ballady as well, don’ t you think?)

Orianthi will appear as the special guest guitarist

Amber just could not bring herself to sing upbeat. But she could kill on that song, if she incorporates ad libs on the last chorus that highlight her powerful voice.

Janelle’s song choice is interesting, to say the least. I’ll be curious to see what she does with it.

I was hoping Kree would pick a song that hadn’t been sung on Idol before, but “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin is in her wheelhouse. I hope she really lets loose, considering it’s rock week and all!

Candice chose a song that’s been done a couple of times on American Idol already, but it doesn’t matter. She always manages to turn a song on its head and make it her own. I never worry about her.

Wow. Burnell. Ok.  Let’s see what you got with “Bad Name.” To be honest, I can’t imagine how he will approach a Bon Jovi song.

Burnell and Candice could be a fierce duo. I look forward to it.

Lazaro’s song is a trainwreck waiting to happen. While I don’t consider “We Are the Champions” a ballad, it is kind of balladish, as is Angie’s song “Bring Me To Life.”   The Evanescence tune is right in her wheelhouse, however. It’s a performance that could get her back in the game.

The two are singing “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” together.  For Angie’s sake, I hope her duet with Lazaro is scheduled BEFORE her solo performance.
