TMZ reports that reality star, Jessica Simpson, has had “several meetings” with Idol execs, and that there’s “mutual interest” in Jessica becoming one of the Idol judges.
They claim Jessica will “take Simon’s place, ” but that seems unlikely, doesn’t it? An earlier report says she’s being considered as part of an “overhaul” of the current judges’ panel.
Also, TMZ reports that an official announcement on the make up of the judges’ panel will happen around the beginning of September.

All I can say is UGH JESSICA SIMPSON. We can make fun of flakey Paula Abdul all we want, but prior to her career as a reality star, Paula was a hit-making performer and a world-renowned choreographer.
