Unfortunately, I can’t purchase his songs from iTunes Japan (how terrible), so I downloaded “Feeling Good studio version ” from youtube to my ipod.
His voice power and control is miracle.

So that’s an Adam performance to remember — and a Danny performance I’m hoping to someday forget!

By that I mean, everyone had low expectations given it was rock week. He only needed to come out there and sing on key, and peeps would’ve said, good job Danny. (Whereas, with expectations high for Adam and Allison, they were in the most danger of falling short.) He should not have underestimated the power and ease that go with low expectations. But, alas, he did.

All he had to do — taking a page from Cook’s book, incidentally — was not be the worst. He didn’t have to try to out rock wail Adam, but he tried anyway. In doing so, he was the worst. Not that there’ll be any true consequence on the show, I suspect. But it was a dumb as a rock move.

I think they put Allison with Adam because they knew he would allow her to shine as I said up thread. He doesnt need to be number one with her, he could and did just let her be his equal last nigth when he could have easily blasted her off the stage.

Gokey would have smothered her, walked all over her and kris and she would have been too bland. It was an easy decision imo to put her with Adam.

This. Allison just turned 17. I don’t know if she could have stood up for herself with Gokey. I think the producers know that. The other option would have been to put her with Kris. That could have worked, but the pairing of Danny and Adam is just eww… It would have turned into a sing off. So I think the Adam and Allison pairing was the only way to go.

I loved how they looked at each other during the duet .. you could tell how much fun they were having. Also, whilst some will take a negative view to Adam’s response of “I hope so” when Simon said that he thought that he had helped Alison move into the next round, I saw it as Adam genuinely meant it as him being very happy for her and wanting her to progress to the next stage and not that in that split second he was thinking that he was more or less saying that he wanted others out of the competition (like I’ve read on some forums). I don’t think he was thinking of anyone leaving he was thinking that it would be great for Alison to get to progress into the next round.

1 Adam Lambert – à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Whole Lotta Loveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (Led Zeppelin) 27/30 (vocals – 9, stage presence – 9, song choice – 9) – Fantastic performance all round with great vocals as usual. I’m a bit concerned that the song choice might be too hard rock for the typical AI viewer.

2 Allison Iraheta – à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Whole Lotta Loveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (Janis Joplin) 24/30 (vocals – 8, stage presence – 8, song choice – – Good performance overall but I wish she had picked a song with more melody and range.

3 Kris Allen – à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Come Togetherà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (The Beatles) 22.5/30 (vocals – 7.5, stage presence – 8, song choice – 7) – I think Kris did as well as he could in a genre that is not his comfort zone. It was a solid performance but at this stage of the competition, it needs to be outstanding. Regardless, it was shameful how the judges all backed the bus over him multiple times with over-the-top negative critiques that were completely undeserved.

4 Danny Gokey – à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Dream Onà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (Aerosmith) 17/30 (vocals – 6, stage presence – 7, song choice – 4) – Easily the worst performance of the night. The bad news for non-Gokey fans: the scream heard around the world is not enough to get him eliminated this week. The good news: That also means no one has to hear him sing this song ever again.

As for the duets, I’d rate the Adam/Allison duet of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Slowrideà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (Foghat) 26/30 (vocals – 9, stage presence – 9, song choice – and the Kris/Danny duet of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Renegadeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  (Styx) 21.5/30 (vocals – 7.5, stage presence – 7, song choice – 7).

*Runs through grassy meadow to get to Adam, Allison and Kris in the distance, waving happily to me*

…It still really really irks me that the judges didn’t slam Hokey for that horrid performance. Thought it was verrrry amusing that his recap was the stupendously bad ‘glory note’ (and I use the term loosely)! …I wonder if the undeserved pimping and the recap was an example of reverse psychology…

Oh and Kris really got the short end of the stick last night. He sooooo deserves to *not* be the one going home tonight – unlike Hokey. [praying to the Rock Gods for a shock boot - seeya Lumberjack! kthxbye...]

Yeah, Missy, I voted an hour for Kris last night; couldn’t do the 2 hour deal. I hope Dokey goes home tonight after that horrendous wail (whatever) he did last night. MJ was voted off S7 after he performed it and was 1000% better than Dokey. I don’t know what the judges were smoking last night but give me a break (or at least one for Kris & Allison). Dokey hasn’t lived up to the hype either and it’s time for him to leave my tv screen.

Adam was all kinds of awesome, as always (might as well get that outta the way, lol). I’ve never been a Zeppelin/Plant fan, but that was soooo good. Slash loved him.
Allison was great! I was a bit worried about the choice of Joplin, but the girl did a fantastic job. I think Slash liked her a lot too.
Kris was out of his element, but I thought he did a good job. I like acoustic Kris better – he’s more James Taylor-ish than rock’n'roll.
Danny. Oh god. GAH. It was all kinds of wrong right from the beginning. I was already dreading that final bit even before his performance, simply because of Slash’s comments – but the reality of it was aneurism-inducing. I think he killed a few of my brain cells. Now **that** was screaming/screeching – anyone who uses those words to describe Adam has GOT to be smoking some nasty crack, because there is no comparison. AND, for perhaps the first time, I was yelling “Holy PIMPING!” at the tv screen during the judges’ comments. A for effort for “going for it” – WTF people?! And why the HELL does Danny clap like a demented chimpanzee after his performances?! He’s his own biggest fantard, I think.

Does anyone else think that during the Kris/Danny duet, the two of them looked like they were pretending to be alone on stage? Near the end, Kris made an effort to ‘connect’ and create some chemistry, but Danny basically ignored him. Their harmonies sounded really good, but the overall effect was a big blah, simply because they looked to me like they were pissed off at each other. Kris looked like he’d rather be *anywhere* else than on stage with Danny, and frankly I don’t blame him.

A-Squared were sooooo excited!! How cute were they?! When I heard the song choice I thought “Huh? Slow Ride? Never heard of it.” but as soon as Allison started singing I thought “Ooohh right – Dazed & Confused soundtrack!! Cool.” Mombert and the Dadam were nearly beside themselves.

I haven’t read through all *17* pages of comments, but did anyone else see that after Danny’s solo, they flashed to the audience with the caption “Danny’s friends and family” – but the group on the screen were Adam’s peeps?!? I LOL’d at that!
