I just grabbed a commercial advertising the new season of American Idol that aired during today’s Dallas/Seattle football game on FOX. No, it’s not the commercial featuring David Cook.
What do you think? features a hot chick in a bikini, of course. Simon Cowell lets her through to Hollywood, despite the fact her singing, like, totally sucks.
This one’s for the guys watching the game, naturally.
I’ll admit, I laughed outloud when it aired.
Why yes, I am easily amused by Simon’s facial expressions (see also: Fantasia’s performance), why do you ask?
And it sounds like the new chick can throw down so maybe she won’t be a useless addition after all.

LOL That was fun. If Simon passed her I guess Randy said yes too, and now that’s probably part of the fun with the new judge, Simon gets to decide when there’s a tie.

Hopefully this isn’t an indication that the show is going to go downhill this year. Last year had so much talent.

I’m guessing they’ll have the usual balance of great talent and great…well. However, I do find it a little weird that the only way Simon doesn’t get what he wants is if all three vote against him. Not sure I like that.

I realize that this commercial is simply a teaser with the hopeful end results of gaining more of the (I would assume)male audience but I also found it very disrespectful (it’s one thing to have her make the judges round for laughs but all the way to Hollywood it a bit much). It was all so fake and cheesy (even the judges).
I think that Kara is going to try and be the complete opposite of Paula, something like a Simon “Minni Me”. I think one person Simonizing is enough but time will tell.
Yeah.. I am not really convinced about Kara’s addition either.
The judges table seem so crowded and if the show is going to be about them it just doesn’t work..Not liking the interaction between them. She is trying to be the female Simon for sure.
I think they are hoping that adding one more judge will increase the ratings, but I am not liking what I am seeing. I hope I am wrong though.
Having watched Britain’s Got Talent (which has the perfect judge panel), Simon can funny this way, although I don’t care about this girl LOL. I thought they’d be all serious and dull like So You Think You Can Dance Australia, which desperately needed Mary Murphy, but no, they’re all kinds of fun and tease each other.
If Kara is going to be “the serious judge”, Simon might loosen up a bit, for a change. It can become a great season. I’m still not going to watch…

I can. not. wait. until the new season starts. I’m really excited about Kara and thankful that she seems to be another Simon, judging-wise. It’s about damn time they have someone else with sense on that panel. Heh.
I wish TPTB would give more credit to Taylor. That was such a GOOD season and he was a great part of why I loved it so much.
After watching seven seasons, I am hoping thos season will provide excitement as Seasons 7, 4, and 5 did!
