Man, oh man, I LOVE the Tour!
The 2007 American Idol tour dates have been announced. I counted 50 dates.
They aren’t coming around to my neck of the woods (East Coast) until September. Bummer. In fact, the very last show is in Manchester, NH. I may have to make a trip down south this summer. Heh.
The tour opens in Sunrise, FL on July 6. Tickets go on sale Saturday, May 19. Check the entire list for your city, after the jump.

Sounds like a few road trips are in the pipeline for you Mj.
OK, I know what I’m doing July 12. :)
I know what I’m doing July 12, too–that my due date for my baby girl. :-) Guess I won’t get to go to any AI concert this year since I’m out east and she will already be born!
A wee bit off topic and forgive me if MJ already covered this… But on another board I heard that the reason there was no elimination last week was because there were SO MANY votes that they literally couldn’t be counted with any accuracy.
So… then how will they know who the TWO bottom are tonight??
Rena - I find that hard to believe. It is all automated. They should have the totals as soon as the voting windows are closed. I guess it’s possible they want to review for “power voting” etc. But even that needs to be automated.
Sadly, I wouldn’t go to a show even if it was free this year.
Two things surprise me. The number of dates and the size of some of these venues. They must be expecting a BIG demand on both tickets and concerts.
It will be interesting to see if they fill some of these really large places (Toyota Center, as opposed to Reliant Arena for Houston, for example).
I expect the tour will do well because it is family entertainment and that sells itself.
They’ll be here on my wedding anniversary….super excited about that!
WEll doesn’t look like they are coming to Indiana. Not that i would have paid to see this bunch, but they added the Indiana date late last year and I able to make that one.
I still think there will be quite a turnout, but not of the two previous years. Just making a prediction….
Pop-Tarts is the tour sponsor again this year. They usually offer pre-sale ticket access. If you decide to go this year, that is.
I’m torn. I would really want to see Gina and seeing her at her “home arena” would be especially amazing. Not sure I want to sit and listen to some of the others, though.
I’m surprised that the Chicago venue is the smaller Allstate Arena and not the much-larger United Center.
It looks like they’re playing in more rural markets and cutting back on the more urban ones. For example, last year two or three shows in Meadowlands, NJ and this year just one. They probably know where their core audience is.
I hear you jersey - but it put me in mind of a conversation I had with a telco executive about this time last year wherein the exec told me that trunks CAN and do get overloaded and the sophistication of counting software can’t always handle it. It IS tinfoil-hatty, though.
It seems they’re going for the “smaller” market cities this year. Interesting.
Some smaller market cities, true. But many of these are just suburban arenas in large cities, I think.
There are also some big gaps in there. They always add more shows.
Well crappity crap. They are going to be in Portland while I’m in Southern California, but they’ll be leaving Southern California the day before I arrive. Suxxors. Guess I’ll just have to wait for Blake’s solo tour! Oh well, if I recall correctly, tix were very expensive (I think, on par with what I paid to see David Bowie - now THAT was a shocker). I’m also going to miss Elliott by two days because he changed his Portland date! Grrr.
One surprise, er, shocker, with the tour dates is that they are playing Tacoma (about 30 min. south of Seattle), instead of Seattle. Granted, Sanjaya is from Federal Way (which is about halfway between Seattle and Tacoma), Blake is from Bothell, which is just east of Seattle, right next door essentially. Where’s the love?
badkitty, Elliott is touring? I need to find out more.
