American Idol Twist for Rock Week: Solos and Duets

According to Top Idol, who has a source in Los Angeles, there will be a twist for next week’s Top 4–when Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen take the stage, they will not only be singing solos, but also perform in duets.   Guess the producers are trying to get around the time constraints while offering the viewing public more than 4 performances in an hour-long show.

This week, the contestants WILL BE doing TWO songs, however ¦in another twist differentiating this season Top 4 show from previous ones, American Idol will be taking inspiration all those international editions of Idol ¦

(And I have been hoping for this for soooooo long for some sick ass reason, I swear. I have wanted to see this for some time on this sh*t show.)

The Top 4 will not only be performing solo renditions of classic rock songs from the 1970s and 80s ¦the even number means there will be also be DUET performances.

I’d love to see the kids perform duets, but not as part of the competition. Still think it’s effed up that the judges can’t keep their traps shut long enough to fit in all the singing, which is, you know, what the show is supposedly all about…
