American Idols Live! 2008 – Atlanta, GA
The Idols are in Atlanta GA tonight, and according to Rodney Ho at Access Atlanta, the Idols did not meet the fans at the buses before the show–they were busy being interviewed by Larry King to be aired on his show this coming Friday…
Rodney’s got some very nice pictures from today’s CNN taping inside the arena…so check it out.
In the meantime, post your stuff here people! And thanks to everyone who sent me their re-caps. Wow, it’s been a bonanza these past few days! I like when the blog writes itself! Heh. Keep them coming! But, if you attend the show tonight and are shy, stop by the thread and tell us about your experience. Also: Photos! Videos! Discussion! Thanks!

As if my week couldnt have ended better. So I havent had much to blog after my last really random one, byt my week has bee interesting enough, that I would like to thank a couple of fans in particular and just vent about my week. As most of you have noticed I havent been going out to sign lately, Ive just had a lot of really messed up experiences with some fans and I think its time to be fair to those fans who have been waiting to see me . To you guys I appologize. Another reason its been hard for me to go out is just cause ever since we’ve hit the east coast my allergies have just gotten worse!

Oh those little rascals, I love them
FYI – The Mavid 9.0 link goes to a ‘this video was removed’ message on YT.
Ellen,
I have a question about your Carly comments above. I’m a Carly fan, so I’m wondering why you didn’t like her first song but then you said her voice is unbelievable? Was the Evananescence song just not your thing? I saw them in Charlotte the other night and I thought she was amazing on that song. I’m not trying to start an argument, just wondering (please don’t take this question the wrong way).
Kristen emailed the link to me. I got another email message from her saying the video was removed. She said she’d look into it later when she gets home from work….
Hm…
I don’t think
october is talking about PDSTM. There were additional reports I rwad that at the end of Billie Jean he kind of hunched down with his hands on his knees. He might not be fully recovered.

Archie sounds really good in Atlanta. Im waiting for an Angels vid, supposedly it was really really good. He sounds rested and in good voice. He extended the next to last stand again, which he had been making shorter in the past tour stops.
I hear his family is with him the whole week. Since they have family in florida still.
Ramiele’s blog made me feel a little bad for her…have fans (of others) been unkind to her. I guess the Mom and me makes me feel a little protective of her. And I can’t stand unkind crazed fans!
I hope Rami finds her niche. The music industry is huge.
Good for Jason winning new fans. He’s a sweetheart.
Syesha’s blog…her STAGE NAME? Oh lo help us. Let’s see, what stage names do the other contestants use? Oh wait, Chikezie only uses one name. So I guess he and Syesha are like Cher and Madonna, right? Let’s ask Archie and Cook to tell us their stage names. Oh wait, maybe we’d better not after that sign in the audience from Desi and friends! LOL!
LOL! Man, Syesha is a drama queen!!! Why did Ramiele have to break her neck?
I’m sending her a quote for her next blog: “It ain’t life unless it’s drama!”
Trina- You have understood me correctly. I can’t remember which song, either BJ or the song before it, but Cookie was over on left stage all by himself and was bent over with hands on knees. Kind of like if you feel dizzy and don’t want to stand up straight for fear of passing out.
About Carly not sounding good on Evanescense: my teenagers commented that it sounded like she was trying to sing like a little girl. I thought she was great, but both my girls thought she sounded weird on that one. The Heart song was outstanding.
And as far as Archie on the Angels song, that was the best of his set. I’m not especially an Archie fan, but I have to say that I understood why so many adore him on that one. His voice was gorgeous and it absolutely filled the arena.
The screams were wild for Cookie and Archie. The screams for Archie were ear piercing. The screams for Cookie created more of a roar, I think they came from the entire audience rather than just little girls. I also noticed that people called out individual things to Jason during his set. I hadn’t noticed that for the other performers.
Syesha’s blog gave me new info. I never knew that they did two meet and greets before the show. They actually have to personally deal with fans five times a day on most days. YIKES!
It’s great that Archie’s and Syesha’s families and loved ones will be with them in Florida.
Just in case anyone is worried about the hurricane and the Idols, Jason’s mom posted earlier today on DDB that the Idols have made it to their hotel in Florida and are safe and sound after a 10 hour trip and lots of rain.
I just wanted to add my thoughts about October’s comment on Carly singing the Evanescence song. I’m not a teenager (my age is far from it), but I have the Evanescence cd that Bring Me to Life is on and that’s also how Amy Lee’s (leader singer) voice sounds. I guess Carly is just trying to sing in her upper range so it sounds like the original song. I thought Carly sang it just as well as Amy Lee. I know everyone has their own opinions, so please don’t take offense to this. I’m a big Carly fan and I like her voice in whatever range she sings.
Poor Rami, She steals phrases and breaks necks. If I were her, I would poopie my pants too.
I am writing an article for the Sun later, just got back from the 6 hour there and almost 8 hour drive back through the storms! After standing on my feet during the concert, then waiting for the Idols against the barriers, I am pretty exhausted!
Quick observations:
The Idols sounded much better in Atlanta/Duluth than in Detroit; Chikezie, Ramiele and Michael Johns got much more love in Detroit – maybe the crowd was just louder in Detroit? Kristy Lee had more people standing for God Bless the USA in Detroit too. Same amount of screams for Jason, and same observation for the Davids – David A – higher pitched but LOUD; David C, yes, that was a ROAR! I had excellent floor seats only a few rows back on the right side and was on my feet almost the whole time!
I loved Jason’s “That’s Me!” on Daydreaming! I wondered if it was the first time! My camera died while KLC was performing
Kristy and Jason stayed out the longest during the autographs!
I’m not sure if this was said already, but while we waited for David C to come out, security said he was sick. He didn’t come out – I was one of the last ones waiting. I was first against the barriers – missed him in Detroit twice and now in Atlanta too! I might try one more time if my family will let me 111!!!
One more comment: I wrote about how beautiful they were during the press interviews but after seeing them in all in full stage makeup – my gosh, they are all GORGEOUS! Dam* my camera for dying on me! The girls – ahhhhh! Kristy has hair you would kill for and it looked the best I have ever seen it last night – flowing, curly tresses, Syesha may be a diva but the girl is drop dead gorgeous, Rami was tres chic with her style – Ugg boots and strapless dress ( said it wasn’t planned but was too cute) Jasonnn!!!

Amy…Dont worry Im not taking the question wrong.. I have the evanescence (sp) song on my ipod and love it.. I am also a Carly fan. She was my favorite of the females.. The song was very loud and she was a little off key at times.. It kind of sounded like she was shouting. Crazy on You was awesome and the Cindy Lauper song sounded great too. She has such an amazing voice. Im not sure what the deal was with the first song… Maybe the sound in the stadium was too loud for her first song..
Ellen, I’m glad you didn’t take my question the wrong way. Maybe the sound in that stadium just didn’t work with her powerful vocals, who knows. I saw the Washington DC and Charlotte, NC shows and she sounded great on Bring Me To Life at both of them. I guess it just depends on the venue’s sound system. Thanks again for clearing it up and I’m glad you agree with me on how amazing her voice is.
…Amy …yes it is probably the venue.. Ive heard the Gwinnett arena isnt that great. I saw American idol there last year but I dont think anyone’s voice is like hers. Im not sure why the shows are always there but it is close for me so Im happy. Other than that Ive taken my girls to see Hilary Duff and Cheetah girls at that arena so I never noticed what was lacking in the system!! LOL
