The beautiful boy who fell to earth has disappeared for a while, and the presence of the absence elicits something close to mourning. Strange, the effect one person can have on so many others. And his leaving struck me as almost reluctant on his part ‘“ as if he were taking one last backward glance at the boy he was before going through the door to his future.

Absolutely beautiful, made me sad for the boy leaving and excited for the new ‘incarnation’ emerging…

On the question if Adam should reveal who he didn’t get along with…I say no. They all ‘grew’ during the Tour and seemed to genuinely respect each other.

DITTO!! I haven’t cried yet, but this did it. You are right, the “presence of his absence is like a mourning.” We all know he will resurface and we know he’s working on his album, but it’s STILL hard not to hear from him or be able to see current videos on him. He has touched our lives in a way that we’re only FULLY beginning to realize and I think that happens when you can’t keep in touch with someone who means so much to you. Here’s hoping we get some videos from the Ford event on Friday. At least that would be one more video before he dives into finishing his album. Can’t wait to see him on some talk shows, etc., promoting his single and album or even the 2012 movie. I’ll be scouring the TV listings in advance to see what he’s going to be on and when!

Isn’t now the time to ask Adam who is the idol season 8 contestant that he didn’t get along with? He promised to answer this question after the season 8 tour. Or is this now moot since obviously they all get along!!!

Well, I don’t know that he ever said he would reveal it after the tour (just that he definitely wouldn’t reveal it during the tour since he would be touring with the person). But I for one think:

1. He shouldn’t reveal it

2. It is probably a moot point now. I really do think they all got along during the tour – genuinely, or at least that Adam got along with everyone – including Michael and Danny. Scott is sort of the odd man out – but I think he mainly didn’t socialize as much with ANYONE on the tour, not just Adam.

I didn’t know that Scott’s mom was one of the people dancing on the stage last night. Pretty cool.

So it makes sense that they used one on Adam (and also because he struts like a rooster – because sometimes he does that – understatement – but we love it)

What does it mean when you give someone a rubber chicken?

A rubber chicken is a standard prop in slapstick comedy and is often used to hit people or things. There are lots and lots of stories as to its origins but most theatre companies have a rubber chicken in stock even if they have never used it onstage. Its a theatre tradition.

I missed that portion of last night’s thread because I was driving home and scrolled past it as I tried to catch up, intending to go back. Of course, looking for that quote in this thread is the proverbial needle in the way haystack.

I’d love to hear the original story again if anyone’s game.

Bowie1..That quote that you wanted from Freddie Mercury to Brian May, I am slmost positive, I read in one of my books on Freddie Merury. I will try to look it up and post tomorrow in this thread.

However, this quote exists and is in one of the Freddy biographies.

You people are so nice to help find this. I was the original poster and didn’t save the site when I found this a few months ago. Nice to know I haven’t lost it completely. My kids might disagree.

This is just the beginning of the first circular journey. It’s far from over. Look, we already got a leak of Kris’ single the day after the tour ended.

And someone said (many pages back!) that she thought he was divesting himself of his Idol accoutrements ‘“ throwing them into the crowd ‘“ very specifically to come full circle ‘“ I think, too, that they were thrown into the crowd so that there would continue to be a tangible connection between him and his fans as the tour ends ‘“ to be a link to the new career as a solo artist. Maybe I am reading too much into that, but it was so unusual ‘“ and as has been said, he never stops thinking ‘“ so perhaps.

Ohh – and here I thought he was just being nice to the audience by giving something back (which I think he was also doing, just for the record )

But this is getting really deep, and I think it’s very possible that Adam really was making some kind of statement there, albeit a quiet one (don’t exactly want to shout out “screw you, idol!” which wouldn’t be the intention anyways…ok, now I’m just rambling. )
