I feel so guilty now as i gifted her an Itunes gift card with instructions to download all of Adam’s music video last month. That started it all. She has never seen a single Am Idol show.
I actually got a thank you from her husband because he is a huge Bowie fan. He is happy to escort her to all these concerts. Does not mind the wife going gaga over Adam. He said that it is first time he heard someone cover Bowie and delivered as powerful as Bowie’s would have been . He said kudos to Adam because he sounds very original in all the songs he sang from WLL to Starlight to Bowie Medley. Like they were written just for him.

It’s frustrating, because words on your screen can’t really convey it. Seriously, hearing Allison and Adam live? Let’s just say, EPIC. Kris also was fantastic. Anoop’s voice shocked me with how good it is, and Matt and Lil put on great performances. Again, you just get a completely different experience live.

Agreed. The quality of the youtube vids is never going to be amazing (though that one of Lil doing No One was pretty great – looked like 3rd row center!)

But live is AMAZING – and even the underwhelming ones on the show seem so much better live.

On another note: does anyone know where I can find a decent video of Danny doing Maria Maria? The only one I found on youtube was not the best. Thanks!

Hi! I just wanted to say, having been at the Portland concert Sunday evening, that video really can’t capture even a fraction of the experience of seeing most of them live. Unlike a lot of singers these days, the Idols can sing incredibly well without any help from recording equipment, etc. Their voices in person, for the most part, were INCREDIBLY good. And the whole experience just is completely different from watching a video.

Haha, I swear I’m not an ai plant! I just had a far better time than I ever, ever would have imagined having at an ai concert. It was truly a fantastic concert. Sure, a couple of the performers really aren’t up to the quality of the others, but by and large, almost all of the top 10 are really, really talented, and have the ability to put on a great live show.

Well, if we all want to get uber technical about it, they all stole the mic stand move from Anoop, who was the first Season 9 contestant to get up close and personal with the mic stand during the Wild Card round.

They just decided to take it one step further with The Straddle.

I am pretty sure Adam is not the first performer to have straddled a mic stand and given it a good, old-fashioned dry hump (see: Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Axle Rose, etc). Also pretty sure he doesn’t have a patent on the move either.

And since I’ve already mentioned Anoop, I think his version of Mad is amaaaaaazing. He stole the show in the Beggin group number and looked so freaking good in his suit and nerd glasses.

There are also reports of real sound issues on Danny’s performances. too.

I was doing so well avoiding anything related to Danny and then someone had to bring up the mic stand. I had to watch. Now I wish I had had more resolve. I can be stronger! I will be stronger!

Oh Danny, didn’t anyone tell you? Leave the wailin’, mic straddling, and crotch grabbin’ to the big boys. And yes, I absolutely believe that Adam was the person Danny was copying!

I’m always thankful for the little things in life, lol. Danny is just not a mic straddling kinda guy. I honestly do not understand why he is even doing it? It seems so out of character.

The only other music I listen to are the songs he is covering. I want to talk about him all the time and say, ‘Did you know Adam, this, or Adam that.’  My family has a little idea, but don’t know how sick this is becoming.

My mom, who is 70 years old, never pays attention to any of this stuff. She actually told me the other day when I was visiting that I was a teensy bit obsessed with Adam. So what if I had just made her watch all of Adam’s performances on my IPOD, so what if I had just finished talking about the tour for 1/2 hour, so what if I had mentioned for the 7th or 8th time the jacket Adam was going to be wearing…what makes her think I’m obsessed?? I don’t get it. :rolleyes_wp:

I even made her watch the rerun of the MJ week of Idol. She had never seen ONE show in her life. She’s a CNN, CSPAN junkie. Anything depressing, she’s there. Her remark after Adam performed?? I can’t believe he didn’t win. HEH.

Also, I would like to see Danny wear simple tight fitted T shirts. I think that would suit him better than a jacket. I think that tight fitted T shirt would suit Danny well, because he has been working out, he’s lost quite a bit of weight and he has really nice arms.

I would rather see Danny wearing T-Shirts than jackets.

A woman started a post titled ‘Adam Do My Laundry,’  because her chores around the house were being neglected. It was hilarious, and someone must have told Adam to read it because he sent her the cutest autographed card (could have been virtual). Don’t know where he found it, but it was like a poster ad for detergent with a pic of a laundry basket full of dirty clothes. He addressed it to her with a message something like have fun doing your loads.

Yep, that’d be 80sMom. I was right there with her on the AI boards (and still am, over on AdamOfficial). When he gets done with this tour and recording that album of his, he going to be plenty busy, because he’s got a HUGE list of chores awaiting him.

The laundry detergent autograph is epic. If you’ve been on the AI site you might have seen a thread started by nymichael, “Adam’s star power from an industry perspective” or something like that. He really got a kick out the laundry thread and told his colleagues about it. This is the story (I hope he won’t mind if I post part of his message to the GlitterMat Wenches [as we call ourselves, LOL] here):

During the season, I mentioned that I thought this was one of the funniest threads I’d seen and many colleagues followed it too. I asked 80sMom what she’d do if we got an Adam signed laundry detergent box and she can tell you her reply; she didn’t know this was happening.
Thanks to my team, they found a laundry box (so many are plastic bottles), discarded the detergent, trimmed the box cover (it was a production) and it went to Adam with a note about 80sMom’s thread and a few other special people.

Adam signed it “For 80’sMoms Good luck with all the loads!“. We definitely think he was being bratty and facetious. My take on it is that by saying ‘good luck’ he’s telling us “you crazy wenches can do your own frickin’ laundry!” LOL :lol_tb:

Me thinks Danny has been watching too much Adam. First this is a salsa song not a ‘rock’  song and second Danny doesn’t have much rhythm so when he did the twirl the stand around (much too slow and I thought he was going to bonk himself) and then, heaven forbid, he straddled the damn thing. He looked like an overage rodeo cowboy who didn’t quite know what to do with the horse caught up between his legs. And then he almost tripped getting off of the darn thing. Oh my!

OMFG – so I watched it (had a drink first) and he took his effing jacket off too!!!!! Argh. ROFLMAO. Soooo not sexy. Danny PLEASE watch someone else, watching Adam does NOT work for YOU.
