   This is a cute story about meeting the Idols from Michelle at Team Plaid.

   My sister and I got to the venue around 12:30 and there were about 5-6 other people there (mostly teenage girls, tho there were a couple of little brothers and moms there). Mostly for Blake, 2 girls were there for Chris Rich and one of the boys for Sanjaya. By 1pm the crowd was more like 25, still mostly for Blake but some for Phil, some for Sanjaya, some for Melinda, some for Jordin.

   GINA was the first to come out around 1pm. She is tall! and pretty even without makeup (none of the girls were made up.) She’s so funny, when she signed the page of hers in the EW mag I had she crossed out “the parts where they talked smack.” Sanjaya was next, and the kid is seriously skinny but seemed sweet. Very quiet. Then Sligh, who also was kind of quiet, and then Haley. Haley is TINY.

   Then who comes out on their skateboards…but CAKE! Chris was wearing his green “Moms Love Me” shirt and shorts (and they seriously did — all the moms scrambled for pics with him after their kids were done), and Blake was in one of his crazy black and white tees. And now that I look at the pics, I think he has on matching grey camo shorts, hat AND shoes. Metro much, B?

   Chris is indeed very pretty in person. Those green eyes! wow.

   Blakey! When he came down the line to me and my sis we both got a quick pic with him, and asked him how the tour was going, and if the weather was better here in SD than in Arizona. Then I gave him the bday present I got him and told him that I thought he maybe got homesick on tour so I got him a cheesy little snowglobe of Seattle so he’d have a little bit of home with him. And he was like “Aw, that’s so sweet of you!” He asked my NAME and REPEATED IT and WROTE IT on the gift bag, though I don’t know what good that’ll do him since I forgot to put my business card in the giftbag (darnit!) Hee. Then he said he hoped we had fun at the show. My brush with B.

   Then MindyDoo and Jordin came out too. They are both LITTLE. Even Jordin is not as tall as she seems on tv and whatnot, and she is seriously pretty even without all the makeup and glam. Melinda is so sweet. Jordin talking is exactly how you see her in interviews, bubbly and happy and sort of rambling original.gif

   Someone brought a Cake-cake, one of those cakes where you can put a photo on the frosting, with a Chris/Blake pic on it, and Blake/Chris/Jordin/Melinda all kind of gawked at it for 5 whole minutes haha.gif

   They all stayed out for about 30 minutes and made sure everyone who wanted a picture or an autograph or a hug got one. The only ones who didn’t show while I was there were LaKisha and Phil. They’re all so NORMAL and sweet, guys…I’m so giddy!

   Yes, those sparkly eyes (TM Spense) will get you every time.

   Awwww, Blake liked his snowglobe. Very sweet. I hope Michelle enjoyed the concert tonight. :)

   But, WTF on the Cake-cake? Seriously… some of these people are CRAZY…

   There’s a great recap of the San Diego show up over at Team Plaid. Michelle (of the bus story upthread) took a TON of pics and videos of all of Blake’s performances. There are a lot of links, and I’ll screw it all up if I try to bring it over, but it’s over there if you want to see pics and videos. She says she had a blast at the concert. :)

   Have been gone for a few days and am scanning MJ’s headlines for the last week.

   Just a small tidbit re the San Diego tour…..

   I haven’t kept up with this year’s tour and didn’t know they were there, but coincidentally, I happened to be in San Diego when the Idols were there, and we were going to get an early dinner (about 6 PM because it had been a very long day, and we were still on Texas time) at Chili’s Thursday night - right next door to the Sports Arena! Chili’s was PACKED, the parking lot was PACKED, the Arena parking lot was congested, and there on the billboard was the reason! The American Idols were there. :)
