Starting the tour thread early…
Many Idol sightings already this morning.
- Blake Lewis wearing his
fuglysignature blue hat–fans were chasing him! Earlier, he stopped in the lobby to take pics and sign autographs - Jordin Sparks, short hair and no extensions, being led by hand by the security guard to the bus.
- The security dude took Idols one by one to get a bite to eat in the Hotel restaurant. We saw: Melinda Doolittle and Chris Richardson.
- Gina Glocksen’s mom was in the hotel lobby with a red shirt that read “Gina’s Mom.” There were a gaggle of friends with her their shirt read “Gina’s fans.”
- Saw Chris Sligh get on the bus. His hair is shorter….

Was Sarah involved in chasing of Blake?
Sarah was merely an observer. I did however giggle like a 12 year old girl when I spotted Chris Richardson. But I remained composed. He is cute as a button though.

The concert’s started, and I’m posting updates from Sarah as I get them!
This is what I’ve got from Sarah so far…
1st number = AWESOME!
Nice looking set, definitely NO tinfoil this year!
Chris Rich sounds “awesome” live, looks hawt in a suit during “Grapevine”
Sanjaya rips off the bottom Mel’s dress during “Proud Mary” O.o
They’re sitting in the 10th row.
Sarah says the Sligh/Gina duet & Phil’s “Blaze Of Glory” = awesome!

Sarah says Haley was pretty good!
Sanji comes up from below the stage at the beginning of his number, wearing red pants & a white jacket. His singing is “not bad”! Hee.
Sligh’s solo? “Awesome!”
Kiki rawks “Lady Marmalade” hard!!!!
Sarah sez: There’s a Phil, Sanji, & Sligh comedy act while Chris R and Jordin set up for their duet. Both play guitar.
Mel & Jordin duet sounds…you guessed it - AWESOME!
Blake’s on now!
Blake is wearing plaid pants, lime green shirt, olive green tie, & lite blue jacket. Singing “She Will Be Loved” now & he does a demo of how looping works!!!
Beatboxing at the beginning of YGLABN is “f’n awesome!”
Blake stripped off the jacket @ the beginning of YGLABN and the rest of the guys joined him onstage at the end of the song.
He did TOTS first and Sarah got all fangirly. But you didn’t hear that from me. *whistles innocently*

I’m currently listening to Roger Waters Live Earth concert of the Wall…pretty cool

Sarah says a detail she didn’t read in the concert recaps yesterday is that during each Idol’s solo, they show a montage of their time on AI up on the screen.
Applause-o-meter: so far, Blake’s gotten the most screams!
The arena is pretty full according to Sarah.
Another detail: Blake comes down the ramp into the audience at the end of YGLABN.
Intermission’s over now, Phil & the girls are doing ATB (America The Beautiful?). Sarah says: “great!”
Manband: Phil on keys, CRich on drums, & others on guitar for “Crazy”/”Hey Jude.” Gina intro’d them as the first ever Idol band!
Montage of bad auditions is played after the guys number. *eyeroll*
Gina’s solo is “great!”
“Cake! Omg!”
Sarah says she’s now a Cake fan! Duet was awesome & they got the biggest cheers so far! Blake’s beatboxing was the best she’s heard from him!
Kiki’s solo was “incredible” and she got a standing O from the crowd! Go Kiki!!!
Phil & Gina are doing “It’s Your Love” now.
“This Love” - Chris R was good “but not as good as Blake of course. :)”
“Life Is A Highway” was great - Sligh was [buzzword]awesome[/buzzword] on guitar.
Mel was awesome on “Natural Woman”!
Sarah says: “Mel f’in awesome! How did she not win?”
No “Killing Me Softly” tonight.
She thinks Wade Robson definitely did the choreography - “Ain’t No Other Man” really showcased it.
Jordin just started & she’s loud. LOL.
Sarah now says Jordin’s great. “Heartbreaker” was good and for the Jewel song, she plays guitar. It was good!
“This Is My Now” now. Sarah states she hates this song!
It’s over! Sarah says that overall, it was great! It was as good as last year but in a different way. She definitely recommends checking it out if you can!
Is Chris R. still bouncy? How did Sanjaya style his hair? Did Haley show her gambs? Was Phil’s head shiny?

OK. I’m back in the room. What a great time we had. SO MUCH FUN. Anybody on the fence about going to this show…BUY YOUR TICKET. It was fabulous.
Long story, but we got into the aftershow. What a great bunch this season is. So personable, down to earth and fun. Everyone will be posting recaps, so watch out for that!!! more later.

No. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I didn’t have the heart. Plus, none of us would have made it far anyway. LOL. And I was just a *little* nervous when I was talking to him. I felt like an idiot afterwards. *sigh*
