Tonight’s America’s Got Talent Vegas show began with the announcement of 9 acts that would go straight to Hollywood:

The rest of the acts were divided into two groups: Judges Favorites and Standbys. The judges’ favorites had a better chance of advancing. The Stand-bys (will air air tomorrow) will fill up whatever slots are left in The Top 48.
Cindy Chang, the opera singer whose video went viral last week? She was so terrible this week, singing “Impossible Dream” the judges cut her on the spot. Dani Shay, the Bieber chick, was inexplicably advanced, despite freezing up during her original song. They gave her another chance to sing a cover, and she gave a lackluster performance of Ray Lamontagne’s “Trouble”. The producers must be in love with the lesbian Bieber shtick.
Several strummy white guys were sent home tonight, leading me to believe they are looking for a very different winner than they’ve had in the past two years (both soulful white guy singer dudes).
