Billboard Update 3/10/07

This week’s American Idol Billboard Update

  • After last week’s Grammy-fueled bounce, it was a slow week for sales and new releases, according to Billboard.comDAUGHTRY climbs from #9 to #2, though sales fell 17% at 84,000 copies.  He hangs on to the #1 spot on the Rock Album chart.
  • tobyMac’s “portable sounds” debuts at #10 on the Billboard 200.  It debuts at #1 on the Christian Album chart.  Mandisa guests on one of the cuts, “Lose My Soul.”
  • Chris Daughtry’s single, “It’s Not Over” debuts on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart at #29.  It’s also #1 on the Hot Adult Top 40 for the second week in a row.
  • Carrie Underwood’s new single “Wasted” climbs to #8 on the Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart.
  • Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know” re-entered the Hot Digital Tracks and Hot Digital Songs charts at #19 and #26 respectively.  Blake Lewis performed the song on American Idol’s Top 12 Guys performance night.

    So, only the song that Blake did re-entered the top digital downloads last week? Interesting.

    I bet we see an increase for Jason Mraz this week. On the yahoo buzz lists, he was ranking pretty high in the music category and overall too, I think.

    I think I’m gonna go Blake a Clake now… even though it’s not Blake day anymore. ;)
