As usual I’m a little behind. Here is this week’s Billboard Update for your perusal. I don’t have much to say this week, except congratulations to Mandisa for cracking the Top 50 on the Billboard 200 this week. Her album debuts in the #43 spot. Chris Daughtry’s “Home” hits #1 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart, And Elliott Yamin’s “Wait For You” continues to inch its way up the charts, from #15 to #12 on the Hot 100.
I’m in a hurry because I’ve been on the road. I drove from Boston to Cleveland OH yesterday. It took 11 hours. I passed by a burning truck near Utica and just got by before they closed the interstate. The only thought in my brain as I passed by the blaze through the smoke was “please don’t explode, please don’t explode…” After a stop at an empty rest stop, (that was spooky) I flew up an even emptier interstate. Until I hit rain. Ten miles driving in the rain with the top on my convertible down. However, I discovered when driving fast on the interstate, the rain tends to fly over the car, rather than on it. Some sort of law of physics, I suppose. When I finally made it to a rest stop, I noticed my engine light blink on. Eep.
Oh well, I’m here in one piece, and will be at the Idols show tonight. Yay me. And then it’s on to Toronto tomorrow…

MJ, that sounds skeery. Glad you made it safely. I will have a hard time getting my mental picture of you driving in pouring rain with the top down out of my head. Sounds like a bad hair day extraordinaire.
