Anyone see the most recent “People” magazine? HUGE, full page ad for Jordin’s album. That was some big bucks spent.
I did see that, Ladybug, and thought the same thing. I’m glad they’re giving her some support.
THey probably should put ads in the teen magazines…. she has an audience there for sure.
“Blake Lewis continues to slip, but only 7%.” That is hilarious!!
Only?? Kiss Blake and that crappy CD good-bye.
I’m very surprised Blake’s cd hasn’t done any better. Although my girls and I had dinner with a family with two teens and they brought up Blake’s song Break Anotha out of the blue. They both commented that they thought it was “goofy”. I said “Goofy??? What do you mean?” and they replied…. “Can’t explain it really, just goofy”. So there you go… I still don’t get it.
Compared to the others who dropped this week? Yes. Only.
I still think Blake will do just fine once he releases a second single.
His album is very good IMO. It deserves to be heard.
There are many styles on that record so it’s not fair to judge it just for Break Anotha.
Well I like Break Anotha… a lot! But I really, really , really like Know my Name.
Although Daughtry (the CD) suffered a 14% drop in sales, at #20 it charted higher than Carrie’s Carnival at #24 and Jordin’s CD at #48. Of course Blakes ADD has slid way off the top 50 with a #118 finish. And let’s not forget that Daughtry has been on the charts more than 14 months.
I love a lot of the songs on Blake’s CD, but not all. I’ll admit that a couple that I didn’t initially like have grown on me (repeat listens? LOL).
Anyway, “How Many Words” was my initial fave and I also heart “Know My Name.” Oh, and Lupe Fiasco’s “The Cool” is excellent! :)
I like “Break Anotha” but wouldn’t have chose it as the first single.
Considering Break Anotha got hardly any radio play compared to Tattoo, Blake’s 250K isn’t that bad compared to Jordin’s 450K. Of course, neither are anything to crow about. They should give Blake another single and keep their fingers crossed.
Anyone wanna bet on a second single for Blake? I mean, did Bo Bice get a second single? He sold much, much more than Blake. I don’t think he got a second single. They should have learned something from McPhee’s flop.
His CD sales have been lousy, so any slip, even “only” 7% means nothing. ADD has been slipping since its release. Sadly, I don’t think ADD will do any better.
