Bits and Pieces

For you Lakisha Jones fans out there, mlive.com’s Idol Chatter blog is one-stop shopping for everything ‘Kisha.  Kiki finally had her big homecoming last weekend in her hometown Flint, MI and in Houston, TX where she lived for 6 years, and you can read all about it, at MLive.

Puppies and Rainbows Alert: I stumbled on this quite by accident.  Honest to carp, there’s going to be a “Chicken Soup of the American Idol Soul,” released right before Christmas.  Paula Abdul, queen of all happy things, writes the forward.  There’s a contest too. Write an essay on who your favorite American Idol is and why, and possibly you could win tickets to the Season 7 finale. Yikes! The book features contributions from Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Melinda Doolittle and others…

Speaking of books. Taylor Hicks has one coming out soon, “Heart Full of Soul: An Inspirational Memoir About Finding Your Voice and Finding Your Way” is set for release July 10.

And speaking of Paula Abdul. She’s had her troubles lately, which makes one even more anxious to see her new reality TV show ”Hey Paula” premiering June 28 on Bravo. I hear a train whistle blowin’…

Katharine McPhee may have felt snubbed by the Idol PTB when they failed to invite her back to perform on the show this season, but hey…IN YOUR FACE TPTB!  She’s set to star in a movie.  The indie film, “The Last Caller” is described as a “dark romantic comedy” and is being co-produced by her boyfriend, Nick Cokas.

Meet Simon Cowell, control freak.  He was recently the subject of the British show “This is Your Life.”  He found out he’d be the subject when the host of the show, Trevor McDonald, surprised him during the taping of the AI finale.

Sanjaya Malakar’s mom,  Jillian Rechi talks about Sanjaya and his sister Shyamali’s unconventional upbringing–no doubt spent hanging around airports. No sh*t, Sanjaya is really not an art school student named Bill Vendall. Kathy Griffin cracks me up.

I actually think it would be kind of fun to write about who your favorite Idol is. Or is that just me?

Damn it - another book I shouldn’t be buying.

What rude comments she and the interviewer make about Taylor. AND saying hopefully that will happen again this year. Rude and stuck up.
    Mercy what a DIVA.

No interest in her anymore. (so there) :annoyed_tb:

OMG! I have never read a chicken soup book, but I bet I could write something sappy and heartwarming about Ace. Do they pay? LOL!

I’m confused… what did I miss? Who was rude?

Lakisha just is hoping to have the kind of success Chris D has had. He said on Ellen that she wanted to touch his hand when she met him in hopes that it would rub off on her. I don’t think she’s a diva at all.

I just can’t see myself entering that contest or buying that book but I do have Chicken Soup for the Mother’s and Son’s soul that I got on Mother’s Day. :laugh_tb:

I’ve liked LaKisha, and I can certainly understand how someone who did not win hopes that they will also have success along the lines of Daughtry or J Hudson, but to say “Taylor WHO?” is pretty rude. She can only HOPE to sell 700K and have a platinum album & she could use all the contacts she can get. I did think it was interesting when the interviewer commented that another reporter who was there asked “who was that?” - he said Taylor Hicks - and the other reporter didn’t remember him. Well, that’s no wonder. The reporters have spent the year painting him as an elderly overweight no-talent spaz, and out comes this slim, handsome young guy grooving to “Heaven Knows.” No wonder they didn’t know who he was - he wasn’t at all the guy they have portrayed him to be!

that doesn’t sound like something to gloat about. Her boyriend producing a movie? :blink_tb:

    Hi Lu,

Go to the MLive link in the first paragraph about LaKisha, then scroll down to the “Houston TV Station interviews Jones, reviews Idol“.. the pic shows her sitting in a brown dress with a guy in a blue shirt.

    Watch the interview.

I may just be testy but how rude to talk about last year’s winner! I thought last year was exciting and fun and personally love Taylor’s music and persona.

To me its crazy for her to diss a former idol. :rolleyes_wp:

She said: “Chris Daughtry, he’s doing better than Taylor… Taylor who?”
