What is wrong with using proper grammar these days? “Outro”? “Gots To Get Her”?

I know that it’s been the cool thing to act “stupid” for a long time, but I was hoping the “illiterate” fad would go out of style. I guess not. And this rant is brought to you by somebody who struggles with spelling/grammar. I can only imagine what it’s like for people who are actually good at it.

Okay, in all fairness, here is my first impression of Blake’s songlist:

    1. Silence Is Golden… (Intro) - this reminds me of how radio DJs claim the song is “Silence” when they accidently forget to start the next song (I’m betting this is just “record scratching” beat box noises). Based on the title alone, I suspect that this will be the favourite track on the album for those Blake H-8-TERS

    2. Break Anotha - I’ve heard this one and it sounded just as I suspected (complete with an advertised “Break”)

    3. Gots To Get Her (Inspired by “Puttin’ On The Ritz”) - I’m intrigued by which version of “Puttin’ on the Ritz” inspired this one. Would it be the original as Irving Berlin envisioned it (in 1929)? If he’s going for an 80s version, it’s probably the one by the one-hit wonders Taco Ockerse. Personally, I’m hoping for the version from
    Young Frankenstein.

    3. Know My Name - If Blake fans are anything like “normal” Idol fans, the DJs will know Blake’s name very soon if they don’t know it already.

    4. How Many Words - can Blake replace with various noises? Seriously, I think Clive has started paying song-writers by the unique word and he only hires those that repeat the same words over and over (See “Break Anotha”).

    5. Surrender - Again, another song for the DJs out there.

    6. Hate 2 Love Her - Clive is now paying by the letters in the song titles. Somebody screwed up though. This should have been titled “H8 2 Luv ‘er”. You know somebody is getting fired.

    7. Without You - Didn’t Clay release a cover of this song last year? Don’t tell me Clive is recycling now.

    8. Here’s My Hello - Here’s my Goodbye.

    9. What’cha Got 2 Lose? - Based on the next title, my sanity

    10. She’s Makin’ Me Lose It - Seriously, are these book end songs? Is “Lose” the new “Over” of this season? (”Over it” “It’s Not Over” “Over You” etc)

    13. Bshorty Grabs Mic! - Sounds dirty

    14. End Of The World - By track 14, I suspect many people will think that it is. And there is still 1000 miles to go!

    15. 1000 Miles - Cover of the Proclaimers hit with inflation.

    16. I Got U - Oh, please, please, please, let this be a cover of the much maligned “I Got U Babe” by Sonny and Cher.

    17. ..I Choose Noise (Outro) - Grinch: One thing I can’t stand is the noise, noise, noise, noise!

lol what a hatred-based impression of the song list there. It’s not even bad in anyway. But it’s kinda funny to read though
“…in all fairness, here is my first impression of Blake’s songlist:”
    great irony there.
I love the song list, the idea of the intro and outro is awesome. I can’t wait to hear this album, especially excited for the ballads

    LOL Kirsten. Nice list!! ;)

Hatred-based? LMAO. Kirsten did the same thing for Jordin’s album, too. It’s snark.

I am not that keen on “u” instead of “you” and the lack of proper grammar in song titles either (Fantasia, Bo, and Kelly C, I am talking to you, too!)… it actually REALLY drives me crazy. But, that being said, if I like the music, I can handle it, I guess.

The “In all fairness” is for the Jordin fans. I snarked on her songlist as well. Blake was a favourite of mine while Jordin was not. So, it is only fair that I snark on him too.

I just do it because you can’t judge a song by it’s title and often song titles are really quite funny.

    X.x i get it…
well sorry if my comment sounded harsh
    It’s a funny interpretation xD

Spelling/grammar police…avoid Robin Thicke like the plague.

Yet another reason to be a Taylor fan! :wink_ee: With the exception of “gonna”, a rather common combination of “going to”, every word in his album’s song titles are actually words! He definitely earns a few points for that. Most of these titles make my eyes bleed.

    LOL, Kirsten. Another funny list.

I can’t get upset about the alternative spellings. It’s been going on for over 20 years and I’m used to. Heck, even my boss does it when she emails me from her Blackberry (as a shortcut) and she’s the chancellor of a college. Personally, I would never use it in business correspondence.

David - you can’t be sensitive if you are going to hang here. :). We try not to take things, including the Idols, too seriously…

I don’t love the alternative spellings either but I’m a stickler for language. I’m also not anywhere near Blake’s age group which may explain it. I’m just excited that his album will be out soon. :jittery_tb:
