Yeah, my pals from Team Plaid have the inside scoop on Blake Lewis’ upcoming cd “Audio Day Dream.” Read all about it…
A few tidbits:
- There will be 9 interludes throughout the album to fit the A.D.D. theme (and don’t expect just beatboxing!). Three of the interludes get their own track numbers (1, 12, 16). The others are hidden, but you can find the names of them in the CD booklet. They were recorded live by Blake’s band.
- iTunes will have an exclusive track that Blake did with S*A*M and Sluggo in New York called “Human.”
- WalMart will have exclusive bonus DVD footage.
- Clive Davis has taken Executive Producer credit.

Also, here’s a recent interview with Blake from MTV. Check it out for a preview of the video for “Break Anotha’”.
According to the beatboxing bottle blond, the disc will contain a new sound — one none of us has ever heard before, maybe.
“It’s my new genre I made up,” the singer, who was heavily influenced by 1980s pop, proudly told MTV News during a recent interview. “I call it 2080, because it’s a mix of all the great pop music that’s inspired me.”
raises eyebrows… Oh rilly? Hold on there, cowboy. Heh.
Lewis, who said he hopes to tour in January, also had some words of wisdom to impart on the next crop of “American Idol” wannabes. “The producers won’t like it, but my advice is be yourself,” he said. “Don’t listen to anything they have to say, unless it’s going to help you in a certain way. And look at the camera. You are reaching the people at home, so look in the camera or you won’t visually reach anyone.”
Tour in January…good stuff.

He has great ideas for his music
“Don’t listen to anything they have to say, unless it’s going to help you in a certain way. And look at the camera. You are reaching the people at home, so look in the camera or you won’t visually reach anyone.”
You can LOOK at the camera, but DO NOT PLAY to the camera!!!
Constantine, Ace & Chris Daughtry all played to the camera at one point, which caused both my Mom & myself to dislike them as contestants, though not necessarily as singers…
What is funny/strange, the night that each of them played to the camera, was the performance that got them eliminated…
Also, whatever you do, do NOT wear sunglasses during a performance, and take them off at the “KEY” moment during the song… This happened to be the week that Chris was eliminated…
Unfortunately, I do not remember what either Ace or Constantine did during what turned out to be their final performance…
Well I agree about the sunglasses. I thought that was goofy. I dont know what Ace did. I’d say Constantine flashed that serial killer stare that only Connie can do and that skeered poeple and he was voted off.
Ace sang “That’s All” and wore a suit when he got kicked off. I don’t remember any eye-f**king the camera in that performance. If that theory is to hold, he would never have made it past Father Figure. Heh.

He got voted off for the Queen fiasco. Simon slammed him and the editing made him look like a tool.
The next week he got faint priase. There was some talk that maybe it was because he slicked his hair back into the Sumo do, but I believe the writing was on the wall with Queen.
