    Hmmm

I liked it. The “heart breaker” guy is a dud, but I think Blake looks great and comes off as confidant. Hopefully his album will do well, even with the saggy middle…

I think I have ADD now just from watching that. I like the song, but uhhh…

  4. 4 Lu Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:22 am

Cant wait to watch at lunch time!!!!

  5. 5 jokiebird Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:29 am

I like Blake a lot, although his music isn’t really my thing. This was just OK to me, dawg. Parts of it reminded me of iPod commercials. I hope he does well, though.

    Enjoy! Or not.

OK, er, I choose not. I tried to watch it before having coffee and it freaked me out a little bit. I found myself nodding in agreement when Blake sang “What the hell?”

    Ahm tryin’.

    Really I am.

  8. 8 Kirsten Dec 6th, 2007 at 10:51 am

Is he trying to invoke an epileptic seizures ?

Okay, I know they are trying to keep production costs low, but I’ve seen better fan videos than that on youtube.

Well, I haven’t like many of the Idol videos anyway (in the last year, BHC, RHH (it was cute), and NA (it had good production values)). So, no harm, no foul.

Oh, and becuase Blake said this is the video that inspired him, here is how you do ink blots (I love this Crazy song): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w

I couldn’t even make it thru the song when I listened to it on a link. I made it thru this time - not my cupatea - probably because I’m getting old - but I hear a lot of stuff like this while channel flipping on the radio, and I can see younger kids liking it. Very, umm…ADD. He didn’t get much of a budget for that video tho, eh?

  10. 10 jersey Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:04 am

I voted for Blake and have not had the opportunity to listen to any of his stuff yet. Not a fan of this song or the video. I’ll have to choose “not” also.

  11. 11 pj Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:12 am

Well, I found the actors pretty damn cheesey. I did enjoy the nod to Aha at the end. :)

  12. 12 J. NM Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:17 am

I like the song. It’s not at all cool, but it’s damn catchy.

    The video? Meh.

  13. 13 t2 Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:41 am

I found the song a lot easier to get through with Blake on my screen. Something about how he reacts to his music makes it enjoyable. Does that make sense? Probably not, but I still maintain it is true :-)

  14. 14 Desdemona Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:26 pm

Not. OMG! UGH! But it’ll be interested to see how he does, sales-wise. Prolly sell a ga-zillion cds, just cause I don’t think he will. :)

  15. 15 david90531 Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:38 pm

I don’t see what’s so bad about this video, I love it!
I think the effects and angle switches are cool and suits Blake perfectly

  16. 16 blairw Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:55 pm

    wtf was that?

  17. 17 desi Dec 6th, 2007 at 2:36 pm

I guess the label didn’t want to cough up for a video since the song has been such a flop, but even I could have done better than that.

I guarantee there’s already a red line through Blake’s name at BMG.

Really? Do you have sources on the inside? Because otherwise, you couldn’t possibly know such a thing. I’d love to hear the inside scoop. Please share.

  19. 19 Tracy Dec 6th, 2007 at 3:42 pm

Wow…that was really not good. I expected better. :-\

  20. 20 mj Dec 6th, 2007 at 4:31 pm

After the comments, and because I don’t like the album art much, I was expecting this to be awful. But, I like it. It’s a little crazy, but it’s interesting to look at.

  21. 21 SueSt Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:12 pm

Didn’t really love Blake on AI… but I really like the song and video. Not cheesy to me, at all. I actually think the video is pretty hip looking and certainly suits Blake in all its high energy, funk and disjointed-ness…

  22. 22 abbysee Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:41 pm

Not bad, not bad at all. It’s interesting……

  23. 23 meme Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:43 pm

That was difficult to watch. Off to chug on my bottle of Pepto Bismol. :glurps_tb:

I now have a headache, yikes

  25. 25 jobbix Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:55 pm

It fell on the cheap side. I mean, the post-production processing could have been much, much better, which ddin’t need a lot money, just a bit imagination. If you have the guts to call your CD “audio day dream”, I expected you to be a bit more imaginative than that…

  26. 26 Chicago-sally Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:08 pm

like it — better than his live performance on TV. It’s young and it will appeal to the young.

  27. 27 bc4me Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:09 pm

Sorry to have to say this but “not”.

  28. 28 hs Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:43 pm

om my god, I actually liked it!

  29. 29 ealbino Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:52 pm

I don’t like the video at all..it made me dizzy….however,,Blake looked great..what I could see of him in all those quick flashes, and I like the song better and better each time I hear it..I wish it would have been a regular video..even Jesus take the wheel was better and it all did was show Carrie…lol

  30. 30 star Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:53 pm

It is kind of like A-ha’s “Take On Me” meets an iPod commercial! I think it’s a decent video. I could do without the cheesy actors too, but Blake looks good and his charisma comes through.

jersey, I hope you’ll give Blake’s album a chance! I like “Break Anotha” alright but it’s not my favorite song on the record. There are lots of better songs on there IMO. :)

  31. 31 dancin Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:57 pm

    i dont like it
and as for it appealing to the young i have 4 teenagers who are into everything from rap/ hip hop/ r& b/ country /rock lol very eclectic and not one of them likes this they think blake is cheesy
but then they don’t like idol period lol

i was sure they’d like blake and they were impressed when he did bon jovi but i guess thats faded

i give it a C and say it should come with seizure meds lol

  32. 32 carolina Dec 6th, 2007 at 8:59 pm

    My ears! My eyes! ouch.

Best I can offer — the music is annoying, video cheaply produced and I think it’s now clear that Blake is really a Mattel windup toy for 10 year olds.

    Ouch!

  33. 33 priestdi Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:44 pm

I loved Blake on the show, but didn’t get into the advance CD clips so won’t be buying the album (I’m more into alt rock, lol.) But I really enjoy watching him, and this vid made me like the single about 10 times more. I hope he really takes off.

  34. 34 pj Dec 7th, 2007 at 12:12 am

Because I wasn’t the only one who noticed the nod to A-Ha, I thought I’d post this.

It may seem cheesy now, but this vid was the shiz back in the day. :)

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=CUod3jGQt0U

    Enjoy! LOL.

  35. 35 KrazeeK120 Dec 7th, 2007 at 8:48 am

I kind of feel bad for Blake…this video looks INCREDIBLY low-budget, and his album has had VERY little promotion. I’ve never heard this song on the radio and I’ve seen ONE commercial on TV. It’s too bad because there are several good-excellent songs on the CD. It’s hard for artists to move records when no one knows who they are. It takes more than American Idol viewers for the contestants to be successful after the show.

  36. 36 ealbino Dec 7th, 2007 at 10:49 am

Well considering the video just came out and he has no hit in the top 20 of the top 40 then 90k is Amazing…Hell Jordin had both and still only managed 119K!

  37. 37 Daughtry_AJ Dec 7th, 2007 at 4:19 pm

I’m a big fan of Blake and this song, but C’MON! This is an awful excuse for a video. I thought Jordin’s Tattoo video had low production, but this looks like any 12 year old with even a little computer savvy could have made this. With Jordin’s top ten hit, and still very low album sales, its obvious the public has little to no interest in the contestants from season 6, and Break Anotha still hasn’t even charted on bubbling under, so it needed a good video to give it a push, but this is swirl effect over and over mixed with generic relationship scenes. I hope Arista is more invested in Blake then this video indicates, because if not he won’t even get near gold.
