I believe Blake is not just SO excited but is SO “freakin” excited!

the ADD photo album he put on his myspace is cool!

  3. 3 heimom Oct 30th, 2007 at 3:13 pm

He’s not the only one that’s “freakin” excited! Go Blake - you rock!

I might suggest to Blake that there are a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Bringing Eunich-ish (different from unique-ish) sounds to a radio station near you…maybe.

Since Blake has excitement to spare, I will opt to not be excited about his single and will save my excitement for something more… exciting.

I look forward to anotha !!!!!!! update when he finally hears the song on the radio already. His enthusiasm is kind of cute even if 90% of his song gives me a headache (I like the intro)

RollTide is so excited too!! :) I will be even more excited when it appears on iTunes.

But… but… according to him (on Jay Leno, circa top 3 show), he doesn’t drink coffee! At all! Even though the grew up in Seattle! LOL. Yeah right, Blake. ;)

star, the ADD photo album is love! Thanks for the tip ;)

So, I never leave comments on pics of the artists that are my myspace “friends” - but when I saw that “for the cake fans” pic, I seriously lol’d. So, I HAD to leave a comment.

And I left a comment on the pic with Mike Elizondo and David Hodges. I cannot WAIT to hear what came out of that collaboration!!

And the pic of him at the piano? I didn’t leave a comment on that one, but I have to say… it took my breath away for a second. Very artistic. I love it.

Maybe he doesn’t drink coffee, but runs it IV drip. That would explain a lot. ;)

I just left one too, but I doubt it will get posted.

GOTH HIP HOP FOR THE WIN.

Rickey has put up “Know My Name”.

I believe that’s a multi-chart radio hit right there. They got out the books, followed all the rules and ran it through the software. “Break Anotha”? Meh. Getting into hot mess territory but very good club track.

If the rest of the album follows suit, and the producers avoid the tired beat-boxing and self-indulgent vocalization he often engages in, Blake may have legitimate reason to be “freakin’” excited.

I adore “Know My Name.” I can’t get over that bridge (oh hee, pun!). They really figured out how to create mainstream songs with Blake’s little, uh, Blakeisms incorporated in! Amazing.

“Know My Name” is by far the better song. “Break Anotha” is a frantic mess in my opinion.

I have a feeling “Know My Name” will be a single down the road. I loooooove that song.

But I do think that “Break Anotha” is a good first single. It’s catchy and a great danceable song.

*hums* I saw your picture in the paper today girl… :)

Totally agree and pretty much why I didn’t like it, my 13 year old LOVES it though and the actual single. I can see Break Another doing very well on the club scene.

I like both songs– A LOT! Blake, if you read this, GREAT JOB! WOOT!

I’ve been waiting for this for SO LONG
very excited when I saw that it’s finally released
and I listened to it…. WHOA this IS BLAKE LEWIS
I was worrying that the music will ends up being alike to some other artists’ work, but I was foolish.
I can tell that Blake put in a lot of effort in the producing process. This song is HOT, original, and very creative too
Now I just can’t wait for this album to release!

He definitely has a right to be excited. He probably has a pair of moderate hits on his hands. However, I find “Know My Name” as tasty as a cup of coffee without the coffee (I want coffee with my hot water, darnit!), and after listening to “Break Anotha” I find myself slightly a-a-a-a-a-annoyed, coupled with an unhealthy desire to break something…really, anything will do.

  20. 20 Boulder Soul Oct 31st, 2007 at 2:11 am

OK, I took “Break Anotha” out of the trash and gave it another listen. Nope, too weak of a vocal for my taste, and as I wrote earlier…eunich-ish. He makes Ace Young’s falsetto sound good. Back in the trash it goes. **Hits empty trash button……NOW**

I don’t hate Know My Name, but will not ever own it.

    ETA:
That being said, Wilson and Calliope still love Kica, Argie, and Daze E Fresh. :)

Each to their own. I think they’re both going to sound great on the radio and am looking forward to the album. I do hope there’s a mix of songs on it that includes something more like Somewhere only we Know which is what drew me to Blake in the first place.

I am sure I have an extra gnome sitting around here somewhere. Here is a tool to help you smash it.

Break Anotha is such a perfect first single for Blake. It totally captures what he’s all about, and I definitely think will be seeing this one in the top 10 of the Billboard charts.

Good to hear, since Kica, Argie, and Daze E Fresh love Wilson and Calliope. I’d hate for it to become a one sided affair. :)
