I guess I hope it was only the person they apprehended otherwise there is some other nutjob on the lose and possibly Julia and Jen might be fearful. This way at least they are safe. This shit just sucks. I mean the fear of stuff like this is a modern day reality. Safety is always an issue. Domestic violence is always an issue, but add to this a child’s murder, and it’s just over the top insane.

Unfortunately, no one seems real clear as to when the car showed up. I live on a city-ish street, and really don’t pay a whole lot of attention to cars parked on it. A car could be on my street for a day or so and I wouldn’t really pay much attention to it. But I think if there was an APB on a vehicle, maybe I’d be looking… I just don’t know.

mj I was thinking about that too. Either it's not him or maybe he had an accomplice? This new article from the Chicago Sun Times gives some new details and is just heartbreaking. They note Julian was wearing a white tee shirt, which I'm assuming was under the striped shirt he was last seen in.

I’m crying for the living. To lose a mother, a brother and a son…..it’s just indescribable pain. I can’t even begin to imagine it. I hugged my mom so hard this morning when news about the baby came out. I pray that the sisters find the Peace needed to keep them going.

My heart goes out to this family. It is hard enough to cope with the loss of one loved one let alone three with one a small child. I just don’t understand how anyone could do something like this. I am so very sorry for Jennifer and her entire family.

llamacook, I’m on the way out the door and have lots to say, but hopefully this will raise awareness on a number of social issues. Last I heard on the news before this happened, our murders this year have outpaced larger cities like NY and LA. I’m not sure about the rate.. but it’s out of control. Yes, any child or any life lost is a huge tragedy. It’s sad that it takes it happening to a famous family for people to take notice. That by no means diminishes this tragedy or the concern people feel for Jennifer and Julia, though. I hope that makes sense. I’m late!

Maybe this will sound insensitive but it’s not suppose to. I live in Chicago and it seems that every other day I hear about a child being killed. Everyday there is at least 1 murder in the news. It makes me sick everytime but I’m not shocked anymore by it. I truely hope that something positive will come out of this all this. Change for the better in Chicago. It sucks knowing you live in the murder capital of the USA. My heart and my prayers go out not only to the Hudson Family but to every family in Chicago who has had lost someone by violence this year.

Ohhh…that f**ker! Those were my first words upon reading about this 7 year old child, Julian, being murdered. I want to believe innocent until proven guilty, but it’s really hard to do when you read all these details. I am conflicted about the death penalty; but, in cases like this, I admit I believe in ridding the Earth of people who commit these kinds of acts. We don’t need them and they apparently don’t need anyone else. I don’t know Jennifer and her family but I am so very sad for them. Maybe, maybe one tiny good thing can come from this. Maybe someone else will be spared because someone read this and was alert or did something for Domestic Violence Awareness Week. Something. Anything.

I’m very worried about Julia in particular. Not only is she dealing with the loss of her mother, brother and son..but if this Balfour is indeed the killer she’s going to be feeling lots of guilt on top of it all. A situation like that, I’d be on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

My heart just breaks for the Hudson family, especially Julian’s mother. She has lost a mother, brother, and now her son. As some have said here the past few days, I don’t know if I could remain sane after going through so much unimaginable tragedy. My thoughts and prayers remain with her and the entire family.

I’m nauseous at the thought of this. My heart goes out most of all to Julia. She lost her only brother, her mother, and precious child all at once. My condolences to her and Jennifer. I don’t know the proper punishment for the vile creature that did this. I know there is nothing more heinous than the murder of a child. Ugh, speechless.

I donÃƒâ€š ´t get it, why would they take the poor kidÃƒâ€š ´s body if they shoot him to death in the house? why did they cause more grieve to the poor family that were hoping to find the boy aliveÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ they are no people they are monstersÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

The way I read the news reports is that he was taken from the house alive then shot to death in the car. Again, this fits perfectly in line with an act of domestic violence. If he was mad about the car as some reports have stated, then how better to show he won the arguement than to kill her son – which he had threatened to take away – in the car he wanted from her. Or it could be that whomever was responsible had considered ransom as a possibility but chickened out.

I can’t even come close to imagining the pain this family must be going through. What senseless violence, how can anyone come to grips with that? I’m not sure how I’d be coping if this was my family, its beyond devastating. And knowing that that poor child was killed, and so brutally, is horrifying. My mind can’t wrap around how someone can do that to an innocent little boy. I hope the monster(s) involved in this are not only brought to justice soon but prosecuted to the full extent of whatever law Illinois has. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer and her family, may God give them the strength to endure and cope with this tragedy.
