Brooke is finishing up her new album, High Hopes and Heartbreak, it’s scheduled to drop June 2.

Brooke White is absolutely fantastic. She is honest, genuine, and true to herself and I love that in an artist. Can’t wait for the album!
Me either. I love the single and really can’t believe she isn’t on a major label. I don’t think that it’ll get released and get airplay on radio. I am excited for her album though.
I absolutely love this performance. She sounds so much better without the bands. This is even better than her performance on AI! I love it when she does acoustic!

I agree…this was much better than Idol performance!
This version is even better than the idol performance or her single. I like it when it is just Brooke and the Piano. I wish I could get this audio just to listen to.
While this is great and I LOVE Brooke, the only thing that concerns me with her is how long it takes for her to get there. She sounds great, but according to people who were at the taping (and partly due to her own admission on twitter) she had to stop and start at least four times before she finally made it through her song, causing production to reset each time. The others all did multiple takes, but not stopping mid song.
^^What’s the difference between stopping and starting mid song and repeating the whole thing all over? I think they just want the best take and if you feel like you’re losing it in the middle, it makes no sense to finish it and then repeat it when you can save time and start it over right then and there.
From a production standpoint I think there’s a difference. Even if you don’t think a song is your best take, it would still be usable for production as long as it’s complete. I’m not saying production wouldn’t let a singer do another take if they wanted one, but sometimes time is money. I’m not talking about Idol Extra so much, which is a little rinky dink show, but I’m just picturing Brooke when she moves on to perform on bigger shows. Shows that don’t have the time to let her do four or five takes to get it right.
Also by comparison, most of the other Idols ran their songs twice, maybe three times. Unless you’re Jason who is the other extreme and he only ran his once. Though to be fair they told him he got it on the first take and it was up to him if he wanted to do it again.
Well when she performed on AI in the semis results show, she did it live and she did great. I think the performers are aware of what they can and what they can’t do in the context of a certain show. And probably just one of those days… some days you’ll get it in one take, some days it’ll take a lot.
Brooke was and is one of my all time favourites. I want this version of the song. It was perfect.
I’d love for her and David Cook to do a duet, or better yet, an album together. Their voices would blend beautifully.
Brooke and Cook are actually my top 2 on S7! I also want them to do a duet, but I don’t think it could happen. Well, at least Brooke and Michael did a duet, and I heard that Brooke and Jason were thinking of doing a duet too. That’s something to look forward to
