Brooke White – Radio Radio –
Brooke White performed her feel-good single, “Radio, Radio” at the FOX station in Dallas, TX yesterday.
Brooke just finished up a tour with fellow Season 7 Idol, Michael Johns, promoting her new album, High Hopes & Heartbreak. I’m always happy for the opportunity to pimp Brooke’s new album. I dig her retro, breezy style.

If she grows her hair another foot, she will REALLY remind me of Nicolette Larson. Which is a very good thing. I loved my 70s folk-pop-vaguely-country girls.
Oh goodie, Brooke!! Bought her cd and love it, love her. I have never quite figured out what her style is, but call it folk/pop/country. Yah, retro is good.
Lucky I heard her before buying a laptop, on which, even plugged in to speaker, no one sounds good. Oy.
I don’t know why but I just can’t warm up to Brooke. There’s something I find so offputting about her. Just can’t put my finger on it.
Wow, is the tour over already? Must have been a short one, it seems like it was only a month ago or so that she announced the tour with Michael Johns.
I like Brooke, she and Carly were my favorite females from S7. Ah man, sweet season 7, will there ever be a season as awesome as that one again? I don’t think so…
Brooke can’t be on tour with Michael Johns, because I thought he was on tour with David Foster. I like Brooke, but there is nothing about her that really stands out. No star quality at all.
Oh yay, acoustic guitar version of Radio Radio, can’t wait to check it out! I hope Brooke does well. Brooke > Colbie Caillet (sp?). Colbie’s live performances suck.

I like her. She was one of my fav of season 7. She has so much warmth and good spirit and this single is up lifting! I’ll check her album
Wow, that is mediocre in so many ways that it isn’t funny.
It’s kind of like a local coffee house singer who mostly does Joni Mitchell covers, but has written a few originals. It would be pleasant enough to be in the background while sucking down an espresso and cheesecake.
Aside from weak material, her problem is that she’s not edgy enough for alt-indie or alt-country, which is are the viable signer-songwriter genres today.
I love Brooke & the way she connects with her songs. I do get the “not interesting/edgy enough” criticism, though, but I have faith that she’ll grow more interesting over time, given that she seems to have a rich inner life.
@hwc – what is “alt-indie”? isn’t “indie” already “alt”?
