UPDATE: We have songwriting credits! Those of you who watch Glee is aware of the omnipresent jazz band that accompanies the New Directions in the choir room. The actor/musician who plays the drummer, John Locke, tweeted this:
John produced the song with Roahn Hylton, who is a Grammy nominated producer songwriter. Candice co-wrote the song with Jaden Michaels and Joleen Belle. So there you have it.

Candice Glover performs her winner’s single, “I Am Beautiful” on the American Idol 12 Final Performance show.
Candice had a hand in writing this song, and she seems proud of the result. But personally, I prefer lyrics where the girl-done-wrong kicks the nasty boyfriend to the curb without interference, but that’s just me. I’m not feeling a great hook here, either. But nevertheless, Candice sings the snot out of this song, bringing her signature style to the proceedings. She rarely fails to have a moment in a performance. She’ll probably have me liking this song by the end of the tour!
