Carrie Underwood, in short-shorts. All that’s missing is the whip. The drummers are interesting.

Somebody made an observation which seems true: They’re turning Carrie into Shania :smile_wp:
Well, can we make that a “Shania with a killer voice”.
One thing I have always appreciated about Idol is that after the show is over, it’s normally pretty easy to avoid the Idols you don’t like.
Granted there are a few exceptions — Carrie being one of them. Every time she walks out onto the stage, my first thought is “Jeesh, she gorgeous”. Second thought “Uh oh, she looks scared again”. Third thought “Holy macaroni, her voice is incredible.”
Simon is often wrong, but he could not have been more right about Carrie.
Apologies to the MJers who don’t like Carrie. I am still trying to “get over” some of the other idols so I can commiserate in spirit…
I agree she has a power voice, and in time as she performs more she will be a natural on stage…she’s still very stiff. She needs to have fun with it and just let go and have fun.
Overall, what I saw of the Grams I liked, esp. Tina Turner — be still my heart, she is a wonder! If we could all have her energy her smile her stage presence and graciousness when we get 68y.o.
I loved Aretha’s Gospelfest….I loved Alicia Keys, already a superstar in her own right — okay, that’s all women notice the trend? Hmm…among the men? I really can’t say. Oh yes — the Time — still delicious!
(Note: Amy Wino will be “Lauryn Hilled” this time next year….forgotten….not having done anything as good as the first one….the “new artists” normally don’t live up to their fame)
Well, I have to say that’s finally a Carrie performance I enjoyed. Not a country fan, and her performances have always been far too wooden and stiff for me, but it seems that this time she’s finally tried to loosen up a little and move a bit. Her voice is awesome tho- no denying that.
Well, I thought that was FANTASTIC.
dude, i LOVED the drummers.
i think my problem with carrie is that as much as she can sing her ASS off (she sounded fantastic) and as hot is she is (and damn, girl is gorgeous), she’s still completely DEAD in the eyes every time i see her. she’s strutting around in those boots singing this ballsy, awesome song, and her eyes still look like a barbie’s to me, and i find it so off-putting.
Carrie is a gorgeous girl, but very dull to me, she does look like a barbie doll to me as well, let loose girl, the song is about anger, betrayal, geesh
Those “interesting drummers” are members of the award winning and amazing theater show called STOMP.
