That was a very good version by Carrie. Now let’s compare her vocals with this one from gospel singer and Grammy Winner Sandy Patti :

^ Carrie’s version is wonderful, but she’s definitely no Sandy Patti! Thanks for sharing that link… brings back memories of my mom pounding out Sandy Patti tunes on the piano and singing through all the house.

Awesome. Sure to win her some Christian fans.

I have watched this twice and love her performance. She was feeling her song definitely. The last verse you can hear her really kick into high gear, very moving. I loved how she talked about her faith and church and family. The show is one and a half hours long on GAC and carrie is in the last 15 minutes. Trace Atkins’ performance of Wayfaring Stranger was also very moving.

Holy cow.. I would go to church everyday if I could hear singing like that…I actually felt like crying.
