    Love this one

I love that photo of Carrie that they used for the single cover. In fact, all of the photos/covers they have used are absolutely stunning.

Fun to hear another “upbeat” track from Play On. I’m liking this one a lot.

The good: LOVING how Carrie sounds in the verses and the rootsiness of the production there. There’s some good lines in there too. It’s very catchy and it’s that blues/country rock style that Carrie does so well.

The bad: What the he** is Mark Bright doing on the chorus burying Carrie’s voice in reverb????? That part of the production is pop leaning and especially when you compare it to how great the verses sound it sounds stupid. It feels like they couldn’t think of a way to end the song so they just ended it.

I ended up liking this but as far as sassy songs I like CC and BHC a lot better. Temporary Home is still the best song from Play On so far IMO as far as writing and singing.

IMO Carrie’s bringing more variety and personality to her singing this album. That’s the thing I’m most looking forward to on Play On. As long as Mark Bright didn’t keep processing her voice. I know she must have been OK with it on Undo It but why??

*sigh* Carrie, could you stop being so freakin’ pretty…it’s distracting! ;)

Wait, what? There’s a song? Oh, right! I do enjoy some fun, upbeat Carrie. At the moment I am totally in love with Mama’s Song (even with all the cheese), she sells it for me.

This is the fun, blast in your car kinda song. Though, I agree about “drowning” her vocals.

Wow, she looks beautiful in that picture. She looks like someone else though, and I can’t figure out who! An actress…tv….damnit.

Here’s Carrie’s mini interview about Undo It.

Ha! She calls the song “mean” and laughs about it. Cute.

I think it’s great that all of the tracks that have been released from Play On are the ones that Carrie has had a hand in writing.

  • Probably my least favorite of the songs released, by far.
