Casey James Collaborates with Songwriter Jaren Johnston

Songwriter Jaren Johnston revealed via twitter today that he recently co-wrote with Season 9 Idol Casey James. Casey’s debut album is set to be released on Sony Nashville later this year.

BurnThisMedia has a video of Jaren’s Nashville rock band American Bang, which makes hard rock, Southern-style. Jaren is also the former drummer of the pop-punk band the Kicks.

Lately Jaren has been writing with country-pop group Gloriana and also with “Before He Cheats” cowriter Chris Tompkins (who also cowrote “Keep On Drivin'” with Katharine Mcphee and “Rocks Instead Of Rice” with Kellie Pickler, plus Chris Young’s current Top 5 hit “Voices”).

Some of the other artists Jaren has listed as recent collaborators are Rodney Clawson (who’s written hits for Jason Aldean, George Strait, Faith Hill, and Big & Rich), Bonnie Baker (who’s also writing with country acts like Katie Armiger and Brantley Gilbert), and Jennifer Hanson (who’s cowrote Bucky Covington’s debut single “A Different World”, the Wreckers’ biggest hit “Leave The Pieces, ” and Billy Currington’s current single (“Let Me Down Easy”).

Songwriter Aimee Mayo, who recently co-wrote with Casey tweeted, ” he’s a true artist–I’m obsessed with his guitar licks.”
